UCLA STRONGLY DISAGREES"

"i'm referring to msb talking about we are 20 minutes away from the best program in the last 20 years (Duke...cant really argue...3 titles)...and the "most prominent program in college basketball, period" referring to UNC...not that UNC isnt really good...but Indiana has 5 titles...Kentucky has 7 titles...and UCLA has 11 friggin titles, including a string of 7 consecutive titles...so I would not call UNC the most prominent program in college basketball...not at all"

Do you know what prominent means?... its "widley known" not "the most successful." UCLA can disagree all they want but who do you think the most recognizable basketball program in the country is? Who do you think outsells every other college program plus a few pro franchises in merchandise? UNC is a cultural icon. Think about the Chicago Cubs... one of the top three most prominent franchises in baseball, but they have fewer World Series titles than the Twins and the same number as the fucking Blue Jays. UNC is widely known, they are pretty damn good (check their rankings here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCAA_Men%27s_Division_I_Basketball_Championship#Records), and their star player is the Ali of the our generation (a worldwide icon).

So yes, UNC is the most prominent program in college basketball.

"But noooo, they would come out with the SAME EXACT gameplan as they used in the first half, that was being outplayed. There was literally no other style of offense that we would run, it was all or nothing. Thus, after our fans realized this, and saw that we would NEVER go any further than the sweet sixteen of the NCAA's, it was time for a new coach.

Nail on the head.

bttt - not that anyone has anything new to add, but I'm really bored and arguing about Herb has always passed the time well in the past.

HAHAH doyel strikes again...what a total faggot.

BTW....

1). Valvano might have let some fucktards into school, but that didnt happen until years after the 83 championship....that one was 100% legit. The NCAA brought the book down on him, and we're still the 83 champions.

2). We didnt cheat to get Thompson. He was a lock for NC State from day 1 from what I hear, and we were careless in the recruitment of him and let him do some shit we shouldnt have....I'm not sure we had control over the free rides to campus or the free boarding for the weekend, but we should have been looking out for him.

3). Every program in the triangle is plagued with a history of cheating because they couldnt handle losing. Thats not limited to NC State. that Mcguire dude at UNC was the dirtiest coach to set foot in the ACC.

4). Plenty of good programs cheat.....the great ones dont get caught. Not saying every great program cheats, but its happened before.

5). If you're not cheating, you're not trying. (k I dont agree with this but i'll point it out for argument's sake)

6). If Valvano was a good cheater, we'd have had Dominique Wilkins because aparently he was a lock for us just like Thompson, and Georgia payed him more than we were offering.
