I've been looking at the new seating chart for Carter Finley stadium at gopack.com and it shows the student section owning the entire bottom row of the new NEZ. That should be pretty hot, and it should be hard as hell for the opposing team to score on that end.
Of course, we still have the other sections like 7, 8, 15, half the bottom of the SEZ, and parts of 14 and 6. 7/26/2006 10:24:52 AM |

I don't mean to be an idiot, but I'm having a hard time finding the new seating chart on gopack... all the ones I find have the old fieldhouse on there.

It's easier just to link the page http://community.webshots.com/photo/516151117/1519926620082214430AbNvNB
to get an image to show up, you have to copy/paste the address instead of just linking it. (unless the pic is already stored in your cache) 7/26/2006 6:45:19 PM |

as opposed to how close the students are in the south endzone?
I find it amazing how that they actually might finish before the season starts.. They have come so far since Jan.

only in the "RED ZONE" i think 7/28/2006 5:36:28 PM |
sm_superstar Veteran 278 Posts user info edit post |
Those red zone seats (in addition with Wendell Murphy Center and Vaughan Towers) make our stadium now look like that of a national powerhouse... It's going to be cool and hype as hell to see more than 61,000 NC State fans at a football game (especially with NC State students behind both endzones). We already had the noise of an 80K+ stadium before, just imagine the possiblities...
The FSU and BC home games are going to be the hot tickets to get this year with the red zone in place...
Anybody know where the band's going to sit this year? I hated those green bleachers they sat on before, at least this year they'll be with the students... that will look more united... 7/28/2006 7:36:09 PM |

this seating diagram, which seems to be the most up to date, says that the band will be in the lower portion of Sec. 113. there is also a new Wolf statue named "Pride" that has been put in on the West Side (aka the Vaughn Towers side). looks pretty sweet so far. there will be new wolf statues that will eventually be placed at the North and East sides near the gates. the artist and creator of the Wolf statues who also did the ones in front of the Murphy Center is an alum that i believe lives in Western NC now, and played on the team with Chuck back in the day. that makes it even cooler that an alum did it. i think someone on PP said you could buy a full size replica of the "Pride" wolf statue for a cool $3k. all the statue needs now is the base to be formed, which they're currently working on as you can see by the pics.

Even if we suck, "you people" need to show up this year and be loud. Its football, its fun, and it looks bad for our school and really does hurt recruiting to have shitty or no fans at a football game.

i like how the new concession stands face the playing field so that you can still watch the game while standing in line. one thing i worry about is if they thought about future expansion of the upper deck over the NEZ when planning the new concession stands and bathrooms. also after we get an indoor practice facility hopefully they'll consider addressing the east side. what is that water that you sometimes have to stand in while using the bathroom over there. there's a pretty funny thread over on PP where the west stands people are pretending that the east stands is where the poor people are. they're like "government cheese will be handed out to all of the east side people."

i think when they were designing the NEZ, they included all the supports and stuff for a future upper deck that way the option would be there if they choose to go that route down the road
or atleast I remember them discussing it, but not 100% sure they went through with it.
Personally, I think that either the coaches need to step up and coach. Or the players need to step up and we need to start winning more than 6 games before we do any more expansion.

if they're EVER planning on adding an upper deck at the NEZ they definitely (should have, at least) designed the structure to support the upper deck. when you get into reinforcing the existing structure (say 5 years from now) it becomes more costly to reinforce than simply over-designing the original construction. i really hope they plan on adding the upper deck over there and at the SEZ cause damn...that'd just be sweet. i imagine completing the upper deck would put us over 70k. hopefully we'll have a football team to fill it by then. 7/29/2006 12:39:09 AM |

It's possible it could happen in 5 years, but not less...and yes, it was designed with the option of future expansion, so it is reinforced...
and like BrassMonkey and I have said for over a year now, the band will be moving back to the SEZ where it belong... 7/29/2006 3:16:27 PM |

I am really for growth of the stadium, but now i think is the time to pull back a little, and work on the little things, landscaping, surrounding area, history/tradition (such as teh dail plaza), and of course the east side concourse, and an indoor practice facility. When all this is done, and the area looks flawless, and our team has improved, then we will be ready to make the big move to 70-80k seats, and hopefully by then we can cast a long shadow over crapel hell 7/29/2006 3:26:02 PM |

Well, according to their average attendance estimation figures, they're maxing out around 60k people per game.
