I only started swimming in college, no real formal training.
And sometimes I still feel like the lifeguards/other swimmers might be able to pick up on that (especially since I've never really gotten a peer-critique or anything similar). But then I remember who cares. I do watch videos on proper form every now and again, though.
Poor form is a different psychological beast when you're swimming back and forth in front of the same people (as opposed to running, where you can run past someone and never have to see them again).

I swim as part of tri training. Love the quarry and outdoor pool in the summer; pool swimming is the only monotonous cardiac exercise I can tolerate in the winter inside.
Swimming is great for overall meditative properties too, can't focus on petty things when trying to breathe! 7/13/2013 10:31:44 PM |
