^^one car didn't hear the air horns to stop and he kept hitting another car. the car being hit was driven by the dude's dad, so he got pissed and ran out there to try and fight the guy hitting his dad.

we only ran the subaru tonight, and it was a pretty poor showing. apparently it has a return line in the fuel system (unheard of to me on a carb'd car), so it was just dumping fuel out. ran out of gas about a minute into it. it'll be back in action tomorrow.

pinto is ready to roll tomorrow, just gotta make a shield for the gas tank in the morning.

buick wagon has the new trans sitting in place, just gotta finish bolting things in.

We're up at 'em...and still kinda drunk.

Me thinks we could use another strong attendance to get these hot rods ready and out there.

OH lemme give a shout out to pwnt for rolling us into the championship tomorrow with a heat win this afternoon in the pinto ( $75 and a sweet trophy, w00t).

finally got the subaru going strong at the 7pm event. it was spreading much hatred and discontent until i was kicked out for my fuel tank and shield getting sheared off their mounts.

just finished up getting the transmission in the buick wagon a few minutes ago. we'll be running all three tomorrow for a grand finale. hoping to qualify one more car in the heats before the championship round.

we got the buick back in action early sunday morning, but ended up only running the subaru. the pinto radiator bought the farm on the way into the staging area. ivan ran the subaru in the championship heat (that ed qualified for saturday) with 19 other cars. its chances ended abruptly when a hit to the left front smashed some sheet metal onto a main harness and blew a fusible link. it actually wasnt damaged to bad i guess, until some foreign 6 wheeled army truck came to pull him off the track by the core support.

Yeah, I felt like a full-on pimp driving my Pinto through the crowd and into the staging area with a couple of chicks riding shotgun.

There were quite a few damn good looking women out there this year. I'm digging the trend we're seeing. Can't wait to see how it goes next year. I do hope the trend continues it's upward, um, movement. lol

I overheard some of those "big boys" talking. One of them claimed one of his rigs dyno'd right at 500 HP. And from the looks of how some of the V8's were running out there, I don't really doubt it.

Demo derbies ain't what they used to be, that's for sure.

But hey, we offered to let you drive this weekend. You damn sure earned it. Team Yar! officially welcomes you. hahaaa.

haha, it's quite a catching phrase. i mean, it just embodies so many different meanings and emotions

i must get the buick out there with those fags dumping thousands into their cars and ruin some high dollar horsepower.

i would like to find something pre mid 70's at some point to run. the 4 cylinders are fun as hell, but i found myself itching to be out there with the big cars (hence my transmission changing thrash after friday's event, lol)

oh, and i'd be really surprised if any of those cars were running 500hp, even at the crank. i wouldn't doubt somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 in a couple of them though. as far as i saw, anything that was built was a small block of sorts (mostly sbc).

500hp huh

on a small block, runnign pump gas, with no nitrous? i didnt hear anything with that big of a cam either.... im gonna call redneck pit trash talking bullshit on that.

maybe i should just find me a 76 cutlass and throw my 455 in there and go at it. probably not more than 400hp, but i bet im pushing 450+ torque (or could be easily enough) HMMMM

What are the chances an engine would make it through okay? I guess it takes a hell of a lot of body damage before it does anything to the engine

Never been to one of these things, hate I never made it while I was in Raleigh, looks like fun. High quality redneck fun that is, lol. I really want to get to a small dirt track race around here sometime...bet it would be fun to watch.
