If he gets 2 or 3 more wins and keeps his era down trust me he will be in the running. I am predicting his stats to be....

W-L = 20 -6
ERA = 3.18

He will get consideration..if he does finish like ..and he missed a month of the season......Hey I agree he won't win it, but I threw it out there anyway. It isn't the worst awards pick I have seen in this thread let me tell ya :-) Peace....Go Yankees !!

BTTT since there isn't anything else to talk about.

I think Matt Holiday should get the NL MVP this year even if the Rockies don't make the postseason.

.340 BA 35 Homers 128 RBIs

Pujols has had a down year, Howard doesn't have the average. Prince Fielder and David Wright are 2 and 3 to me. Carlos Lee would be if the Astros didn't suck ass.

[Edited on September 20, 2007 at 5:59 PM. Reason : Fielder is actually hitting .291]

Do you happen to have the home/road splits for Holliday. I know how slanted they are towards home but don't have time to look them up again... I think when you look at Wright's likely .315, 33 HR, 115 RBI, .410 OBP, 30 SB in a pitchers park like Shea for 81 games (not to mention 3 of the 4 other in division stadiums also being pitchers parks) it has to be more impressive than Holliday's numbers..

Rollins has to be in the mix if they make the playoffs though Utley/Howard will steal votes from him. Fielder ditto and he has no one to steal from him...

^^ David Wright or Prince Fielder will be the NL MVP unless the Rockies can somehow over come 5.5 games in the next 10 games. Holliday has been a stud no doubt.

If the Phils overtake the Mets, Ultey better get some MVP love. Ever since he came back from his injury, the Phils have played great.

^ Pujols lost because he is a prick to the media. Howard won inspite of his shitty team and the fact that he carried them the entire 2nd half and almost got them into the playoffs.

here's my impersonation of Ryan Howard on an average day:

AB #1: Strikeout
AB #2: Strikeout
AB #3: Strikeout
AB #4: HR

hey he's the best player ever!!1

^^, Look at what ^ said. Howard struck out like 175 times last year. Whereas Pujols walked 94 times and struck out only like 52. I have already proven that Pujols was robbed in a thread from last year. Don't make me pull it out. Plus what a joke that Philly new stadium is. I mean there is a reason your leadoff man goes from hitting 10 HRs a year to 26 and 28 homeruns.

Anyway new subject.

NL Cy Young is probably going to be Peavy and rightfully so. Webb has faltered down the stretch. Penny would be 2nd.

AL Cy Young there are about 7 main guys that could win this thing with ERAs between 3.07 and 3.20

Beckett 19-6 3.20 180 Ks
Sabathia 18-7 3.19 205 Ks
Carmona 17-8 3.07 126 Ks
Lackey 17-9 3.13 170 Ks
Haren 14-8 3.12 180 Ks (On a terrible team)
Bedard 13-5 3.16 221 Ks
Santana 15-12 3.14 220 Ks (even in a down year)

Then there are several more who could even get votes:

Escobar 17-7 3.46 156 Ks
Kazmir 13-8 3.54 220 Ks
Wang 18-7 3.82 94 Ks
Verlander 16-7 3.70 170 Ks
Halladay 15-7 3.82 131 Ks but 7 CGs

IMO those are 12 solid years in a great hitting league. I think it is a toss up to who wins this thing. Do they go by wins and give it to Beckett? Or by actual stuff and give it to say Bedard?

Howard for MVP.

He is the only one about to set an alltime record. With his 4th K tonight he is now 1 off of the major league record in one season of 195. Two more Ks and he can send his bat to Cooperstown!!!

Btw... fuck you Nationals. You fucking blow ass. 1st and 3rd, no out and you fuck it up. Fuck you and your fucking city.

Braun took home NL ROY by 2 fucking votes over Tulowitzki. Hunter Pence and Chris Young took 3rd and 4th

Pedroia won it easily over Delmon Young, Brian Bannister, and Matsuzaka in the AL.

how did Chris Young not beat out Pence? Pence missed what, like 2 months? While Young was on a playoff team and became the first rookie EVER to hit 30 HRs and steal 30 bases during his rookie season

I mean I guess it doesn't really matter where you finish in voting if you don't get 1st...but still, Youg had a great year by anyone's standards...give him 40 more batting average points and his stats are basically David Wright's stats
