Go brush up on your history, fag. Under O'Cain, we lost to some of UNC's worst teams in school history. '98 and '99 were especially painful to watch.

^And I guess the last 2 UNC were top 10 worthy?

Mack Brown>Carl Torbush>John Bunting.

Hell Torbush got fired for 6-5. Bunting got an extension.

I like how you omitted '99.

We were 2-6 in the ACC that year, and we lost to a Tarheel team that was 1-8 going into the game.

'92?

1992????

Damn, you had to go back pretty far, didn't you? Almost back to the Sheridan years.

That's like saying that Torbush was a good coach because UNC was good the year after Mack Brown left.

Amato still has a lot to prove, but we're in a MUCH better position now than we were in 1999 when that loser O'Cain left.

O'cain was recruiting Rivers as a TE, I doubt he would have seen time at QB. It's funny how if Amato had beaten UNC this year, you would hear a few disgruntled fans at the state of NC State football. If he had won in Chapel Hill in 04 on top of this year, not one person would be unhappy with our program. So I'd say that two little games have caused 99% of this "hot seat." Not the Clemson game, not the weak schedule, penalties, etc, but rather two simple games.

and we probably would have won this game had instant replay been a part of the college game back then...food for thought

That's just not true. The only reason Rivers came to NC State was because we were one of the few teams recruiting him as a QB. Auburn and Alabama wanted him as a TE, which is why he left the state.

Holy hell I didn't see that earlier. Please stop posting.

MOC is the MAIN reason we had PR. In fact if it wasn't for MOC getting PR started here, Chuck would prolly already be out the door.

How funny it is that our old coach provided the only reason our new coach hasn't been fired.

There's no way that would have been overturned.

and you must have received the information that chuck personally called for the prevent defense from your telepathic sense that you honed over the years of head coaching zen training.... right?

its gonna be bad if he loses to UNC....hes not gonna have any excuses to get himself out of that. I hope that ifff we lose, we don't lose b/c of a bogus play or the officiating b/c then he might have more ammo against the press.

im not looking forward to the game at all, but i love hearing him talking about kids not giving up, and fighting, and playing their fannies off, and being 2 plays away from winning, and how great the facilities are.

I honestly go into this game with the expectation of a loss....there is really no way i could be dissapointed here...unless we get shutout, heh.

"According to Amato, he marks the Carolina game on the schedule every year as the one game he has to win. He said he talked to his players about the game in August because of the importance of the game to him and the people who care about N.C. State.

"I think about [the Carolina game] every day of the year," Amato said. "I went to school here. I was fortunate enough to see what it was like to compete against a rival -- and that's with you 365 days a year. And it needs to be with everybody that long.""

If UNC brings half the defense they did against G-Tech last Saturday NCSU better be hoping for some interceptions returned for touchdowns, or else it'll be a 0-0 tie.

^^^^Successful coaches/players think about beating a rival, not competing with them.
