Aero to Materials to Chem Eng to Chem Eng and Chem double major

I honestly believe that everyone should change their major at least once, granted some people are die-hard: i want to be a computer programmer, i want to build race cars, i want to own a business. that stuff is fine, but no one wants to end up in a situation where 3 days before graduation they realize that they dont want to do that kind of work for the rest of their career.

at the least: take a course in another major or find a friend in a different major and ask them what they plan on doing with that degree and see if that sparks your interest
talk to the undergrad director in another major that you have been considering, the ones i have talked to are always glad to help, its what they are their for

and dont expect a job to be handed to you at graduation, start looking early, start now looking for that internship or job that you want. and cast a wide net, look at every company that does what your major does. dont wait until the spring to start looking. some companies do all of their hiring in the fall, some are even done hiring by november. join ePack and click on the button for application deadlines. apply to all of the companies that are looking for your major, at the least you will get some interviewing experience out of it

Just because you graduate with a degree that you are not interested in doing as a job, doesn't mean that you won't be able to do something youlike. My aunt majored in speech pathology in college and now shes a lawyer. She never touched anything in relation to her major.

I know people with engineering degrees who are pilots, military officers, math teachers and one newspaper writer.
