i couldn't care less about this game, to be honest. i'd rather end the season against any acc team, and i'd bet that other than people who have family that go/went to ecu, everyone else would too.

the fact that state/unc was a big rivalry before espn decided to make duke/unc its lovechild probably helps our cause, as where ecu never was, and still really isn't as far as most of us are concerned.

nc state and unc are comparable in academics as well as athlethics, whereas the margin between nc state and ecu in academics and and athletics is quite larger. so thats why its not the same as a state student talking shit about an ecu student as it is a unc student talkin shit about a state student. that probably didnt make any sense what so ever but oh well, yall know what im trying to say

^I'm not arguing that, I guess I just think it's funny that state fans act like they don't care about the game, but come november 22, those same people will all be at the game. and the thing is, I'm not saying that like it's a bad thing. the state/ecu games are fun. fun tailgating, fun game, fun partying afterwards. me and all my friends from state/ecu would always have such an awesome time at those games. I guess I don't really understand where the hate comes from.

I've had about 15 people ask me for tickets or where the could get tickets to this game. And yep, you guessed it, they were all ECU fans. Thats how I know we dont give a fuck about this game.

Playing ECU does mean more to us than just playing USM or some other Conference USA team. Anyone who acts like it isn't is just kidding themselves. The ECU rivalry is not the same as the UNC, Duke, or even Wake rivalries, but some of that is because they are not in the ACC.

The whole point of this is that we gain nothing by beating ECU. I will go and have fun and pull for the pack like every other game, but its just another trap game on our schedule where the opponent and their fans will be fired up and we'll be lame ducks waiting to get stomped.

^^^^ there's a lot of people at every game. to say it's more intense than another cusa game is true just due to proximity, and to say we want to win this game is true just due to it being embarrassing as hell to lose to ecu, not b/c we particularly have beef w/ ecu. that's my take anyway, maybe some of you really do hate ecu, but no one i know does.

Two things:

1. It's a NCSU football game. We're fans, we support the team, even if they're playing South Texas Vocational Institute. Why would we not show up for this game just because ECU is a joke?

2. It's generally the last game of the season. Most times, the first and last games of the season (along with the biggies like FSU) are well-attended. There may be an exception to that if we're 2-13 or something, what with bandwagon fans, but high attendance to the final home game is pretty common (and let's face it, even if it's in Greenville, it's pretty much a home game).

all I know is that ecu has the best QB and WR in the state. Allison probably goes first round. so, joke or no joke, you better prepare for that duo.

oh, and ecu signed the QB from independence, one of the top teams in the country.

also, all the games for the year are sold out, this is true. but there are always extra tix for alumni through the chancellor's office, which are the tix I usually get, but for the ecu game, they're all gone. to whom? you guessed it, nc state alumni and fans.

I can't stand ECU. A lot of my friends go to school there. The crowd at ECU is no different from UNC, they talk all kinds of shit about how they are a better school than us. I've seen them play this year, and they've got a better team than what people make them out to be. I think Skip Holtz is taking their program in the right direction. I think its gonna be a good game, so I hope a lot of people come to support The Pack

I don't think you guys understand what I'm saying. I work for STATE. there are always tickets left over in the chancellor's office and that's how I get free tickets to the games. This includes florida state, wake, ect. the ONLY game that has ZERO tickets is the ECU game because all the STATE fans snatched them up. Do you understand what I'm saying? My point is that you can say you don't care about the game all you want, and that's fine, I understand it's not a conference game, but the fact of the matter is that people want to see this game, period.

I'm not saying ecu is going to win. But for a team that's such a joke, they sure do get alot of press around this area for having two of the best players in the state. I guess ignorance really IS bliss.

Pinkey didn't look so hot the last game but tulsa has a good secondary and allison hasn't played the last two games but maybe he will be back this week i don't keep up with ecu football but have attended all their home games so far this season and they are not bad but i think pack should win this game fairly easily but thats impossible for NCSU

I'd say that I care about ECU more than our other non-conference opponents, just because it's in-state (they get the edge over ASU for being 1A) but not as much as an ACC opponent.
