how about giving out bracelets in advance at reynolds instead of tickets, bracelets are harder to passup and they will accomplish the same thing as hand stamps

ps i would like my consulting fee made out to cash

i said this in the other thread but since there is two i guess i'll say it here also, if section 7 and 8 are the problems then just focus on fixing that.

make one of the gates for section 7 and 8 tickets only, and when you go through that you'll get a bracelet, a stamp, one of those anklets they put on people with house arrest, whatever, and leave the rest of the stadium alone. nobody anywhere but section 7 and 8 had any issues its just the idiots that think sitting in section 7 and 8 is the only place you can have fun at the football game and do all they can to sit there. if people want to sit in 7 and 8 so bad make them put in the effort. i like the idea of a bracelet at reynolds, make 7 and 8 people get a bracelet there, whatever. but this is wasting everyone elses time just because of one section and the desire to sit there.

^Can't do a bracelt ahead of time at reynolds because people could just carry those up to friends and get them in the section (similar to tickets). I agree a stamp should be used only for sections 7 and 8 with a designated entrance. Leave the rest of the sections alone and let people sit in blocks still without having to get all there people up there at the exact same second.

I mean, honestly, bars can do this with no problem.

You'd think a institution of higher learning could manage to fall ass backwards into a decent solution as well.

^^^^Because those bracelts given days beforehand you can take off. So lets say you have a few friends that want in your section, all you have to do is get a person to take a few bracelts (concealed) up to the other friends waiting (similar to the old paper ticket situation).

It works at unc because they don't give two shits about football, we have clever people here who find ways to get into whatever section they perceive as better.

its for basketball, they give two shits

and if they are able to slip off you dont let people in. and if its crowded event one staff can kick out people who dont have a bracelet on their wrist (its just as visible as a stamp)

In a perfect world that would work, but at nc state we know event one staff wouldn't go searching around for people. A good solid stamp can't be transferred, there is no chance of sneaking in. However I'm more concerned about why we need stamps for every spot in the stadium rather than just 7 and 8.

use the bracelts they use at hospitals, with the clip. only way to get them off is to cut them. if its cut, the person doesn't get back in. but that is so extreme plus there is the problem of people making it to reynolds to get the bracelt.

just make a gate for sections 7 and 8, have those people wait in the damn long line or get there early for their beloved section 7 and 8 seats, and stamp those people as they walk in and get scanned. the rest of us do fine in section 121 and 14 and 123 and all those places. sometimes, we even pee at the bathrooms and get back to our seats! if 90% of the stadium is fine, and 10% is the issue, then fix the 10% and leave the rest of us alone to have fun and arrive when we want and meet up with our blocks.

event one staff kicked out people when they had to ask to see tickets, now that they would just have to look at a wrist its even easier

and the stamps are a good idea, determining section based on arrival time is the problem

This student ticket situation is looking like it will be terrible for a long time to come. Any change made to this system inevitably is worse for students. It is clear the athletics department and administration have one thing in mind.

IMAGE

That is the reason they make changes like this. They want people in their seats well before kickoff so that the stadium looks full on TV. Students are just the most easily controllable ticket-holding group. They also very conveniently are effectively cutting out tailgating with this change.

The only real way to get any power over any decision-making regarding student tickets is to boycott games and get as much publicity to surround that as possible. But who wants to do that?

^^exactly which is why they should just use stamps for people who won sections 7 and 8

^ but like most of their idea's this one will backfire too, now lines are going to be even longer (search pockets and other places, scan ticket, determine appropriate stamp. Not to mention students can't put a specific time with a specific section they will get.

best tweak to this shitty system

my personal opinion is that this will suck cuz what if people WANT to sit front row of upper deck???
IMO those are the best seats in the house

the old system should be adopted... I'm a season ticket holder, but this really sucks for ya'll students

^ That won't work either because you could get a ticket scanned to get in the stadium, but then have a print out to section 7 and 8 prepared (duplicate of someone else's ticket). Then you would just go up to the stamper at section 7 or 8 a while after your friends did and bingo you've snucked in.

I have writing a couple of emails back and forth with Dick Christy. I said they should only regulate section 7 and 8, so only student with these tickets would get a stamp and the rest of the sections would be left alone. I did not however say that there should be another gate for students with these tickets to enter. These are some of his comments:

Quote :
"One of the proposals at the meeting also involved stamping only
sections 7 & 8. Unfortunately, this would require a different method of
scanning the tickets where the event staff person would have to compare
the ticket to the scanner to verify and then pass off only valid section
7 or 8 patrons to the stampers. This creates a significant addition to
our processing time and due to our goal of expediting the student
entrance process we abandoned this suggestion. Another point raised by
students was that in this model the endzones would become the next high
priority area to be fraudulent with tickets and our problem would
essentially move to another area. That is why the group felt the need
for a more drastic change. Thanks again for your help."

I don't know about how much students feel but I'd rather be in 14 than one of the end zones. Plus being that there are 2 endzones, I don't see it being as much of a focal point of students who want to get "the best seats". I'd also like to know what student in their right mind would say this?

Charge money for tickets at the start of the season, for a season package..

Like $50 for lower sections 7 & 8

$20-$30 for other sections

And whatever is left just raffle off with an online dist'b..

Schools like VTech do this, i think their packages are $60 for their endzone Student Section

This way if you pay you have a SEAT with a number.. you can order (sit) with Friends and you don't have to worry about doing the Dist'b shit.

^ Your point is the one that's dumb.

Would you take a free Huffy 10-speed, or a Camry for $100?

The point they're making is they'd like a marginal fee to weed out those who weren't serious about good seats & football, that's all.

^^^ Would you rather have a free stay at a hotel for 1 night where you have to go listen to people talk the entire time and have lots of general aggrevation (similar to a time share) or pay a small amount and be able to do what you want for the night and not have to deal with the aggrevation.

Thats basically what we are saying.... 50 bucks to not deal with any stupid bullshit for the entire year would be really worth it to me. Also, if they could give me a laminated parking pass for the season with my tickets it would be like heaven.

I’d gladly pay for that shit if i didn't have to deal with dist'b... got to go into a standard gate... was able to avoid the student gate lines... could stay in the tailgating lot 10 minutes prior to kick off... had a guaranteed SEAT with my friends for every game..

Yeah, I’ll pay... If you don't want to pay then you can just do Dist'b for sections that aren't sold..

If you really care about going it would be worth paying for tickets

people need to remember that there were a ton of problems even with assigned seats. nobody sat in the right seats, half the people thought u were suppose to stand on your own seat while the other half thought u were suppose to stand on the seat in front of you. it was a mess too.

if we can't even just sit in the right sections, what makes people think that people are going to sit in their specific seat? the most simple solution is to act like college students, realize that there is more to life then section 7, and just sit in your correct section. i've sat everywhere in the stadium, and there is no bad seat, i'd argue that there are seats better then 7 or 8.

HERE IS A SIMPLE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM

re-arrange the sections for seating. Fill both endzones with students, and move the visitors, band, etc into section 6, 7, & 8, etc.

if all students are in the endzone, there isn't as dramatic of a difference in the seats. Whoever gets there earliest will get the seats closer to the field, and there shouldnt be such an issue with overcrowding. People might crowd the middle slightly more, but def. not as bad as things have been
