I read something about they were doing it with that option in mind and more excitingly a Nick Fury movie with Samuel L. as introduced in this.

Dare we hope for an Ultimate Avengers movie someday?

i dont know why i haven't been in this thread before

but

1. R.D.Jr as Tony Stark is fantastic, I think he'll nail the role.
2. Haven't seen the teaser yet b/c all the links are dead but the pictures are amazing
3. Sam Jackson as Nick Fury kind of disappoints me, but hell I'll try anything once.
4. Really excited to see how Favreau does, I think he's very talented

back to Nick Fury, they are using the Ultimate universe nick fury... I really hope they don't get careless and start jumping ship and crossing story lines of the original marvel and ultimate universe. Stuff like that grinds my gears.

[Edited on August 2, 2007 at 8:10 AM. Reason : but its hollywood and the average joe moviegoer will never know the difference]

i think the guy that plays Nathan Stark on Eureka would have been a lot more true to the comic Tony Stark, but i like RDJ so i'm ok with it

p.s. heh

apparently, the first, real, HD trailer will be on Apple on 9/11

from Jon Favreau himself:

Quote :
"The first appearance will be immediately before the Hills on MTV on 9/10. I've listed the schedule of other slots that Paramount marketing has sent me below.

A hi-res version will appear on Apple.com/trailers on 9/11 for those of you who, for whatever reason, choose not to TiVo The Hills.

Comedy Central: The Daily Show 10-Sep
MTV: The Hills 10-Sep (the break leading into the show)
Spike TV : CSI 11-Sep
VH1: The Rock Life 10-Sep
BET: Baldwin Hills 11-Sep
CMT : Trick My Truck 10-Sep
Logo : Rick & Steve 11-Sep
MTV2: Room 401 10-Sep
NAN : Fresh Prince 10-Sep
The N: Fresh Prince 11-Sep
TV Land: Andy Griffith 11-Sep"

well that appears to be the almost the same footage that was shown at e3, so thats a little disappointing that we don't really get to see anything new (for those of us that saw the shitty capture of it before it was taken down from everywhere)

seeing the quality trailer gets me pretty excited to see this movie.

Ironman looking back and seeing the planes flying next to him and then zooming away was badass.

yeah I think RDJR might have been hamming it up just a bit too much at the beginning but then again I'm not familiar with the comic so I can't really say anything

i'm cautious about RDJr doing all the joking around; i.e., stream of cutesy one-liners/quips = shitty film. maybe in the movie he's not making jokes all the time and the marketing people just wanted some catchy sound bites for the trailer, otherwise i'll feel like i'm watching Armageddon or something. Having said that, the look and action of ironman was superb.

^^ and ^ Yeah, that's like when people forget the hyphen in Spider-Man--it's unforgivable. And some might say neither matters, but I say different. Here's my piece:

Just as the hyphen as a rhetorical device indicates that the "Spider" and the "Man" are coequal elements in "Spider-Man," so, too, does the separation of the "Iron" and the "Man" in "Iron Man" tell us something. The space between the words at issue informs us that--despite an increasing trend toward union of the suit and the man--Stark and his suit are not one. Stark's humanity separates him from being a mere piece of machinery.

^ Um. . .no, but I should. I did go a little College Boy on that post, I admit.

I am simply a student of punctuation--or lack thereof--as a rhetorical device. I did, however, write a multigenre piece in which I examined the death of Captain America as a metaphorical anti-war statement. FYI.

So I don't see any way the movie can be better than the trailer for this movie. Maybe they shoudl nto release the movie, just keep extending the trailer.

I am a little disappointed in that still. It is almost exactly like the one they released a few months ago.

Though, I'm sure the movie will not disappoint.

what part of a self-absorbed, alcoholic, multi-millionaire playboy with a badass suit of armor not appeal to you? Tony Stark is everything that Bruce Wayne should be cept he is too emo.

On a serious note, I always loved the old Iron Man storylines that had all of the Chinese guys & dragons running around in it.
