Either way though Clemens would give the Yanks another starter, but I don't see them winning the series with just him and the rest of that rotation with Mussina, Wang, and Pettitte. ^an NL team did NOT win the WS that year... the Chicago White Sox won in 2005. An NL team hasnt won (before this year) since 03, the Marlins.
Also, what do you think they have been doing with their bullpen this winter?
They added a bunch of good hard-throwing AA-AAA pitchers (similar to what the Tigers did, giving them one of the best pens in baseball). They also aquired a very servicable relief pitcher from the DiamondBacks in the Unit trade.
A guy to watch for is Kevin Whelan, a single-A prospect the Yankees picked up for Gary Sheffield, who a lot of people think is ready RIGHT NOW. Throws about 98 with a nasty hook and a sinker.
