Well yea, I do think that the offense is clicking.

But Delhomme had a CAREER HIGH passing yards today, but a veteran QB who has led a team to a superbowl just doesn't have a career day against the toughest D in the NFL.

I don't think they were "exposed" as in they suck at D, but they were definately exposed as not the dominating D they were proclaimed to be.

Sun 9/10 at Tampa Bay W 27-0 <-- Chris Simms
Sun 9/17 Oakland W 28-6 <-- duh
Sun 9/24 at Cleveland W 15-14 <-- Charlie Fucking frye almost beat them. They won by pure luck
Sun 10/1 San Diego W 16-13 <-- Martyball. Again, another game they should have lost
Mon 10/9 at Denver L 3-13 <-- OAKLAND held denver to the same amount of points
Sun 10/15 Carolina L 21-23 <-- Finally faced some real offensive weapons

IOW, all their defensive accolades this year were built up against TERRIBLE offenses. The stats hid the fact that they actually weren't tested and that they actually played more poorly than the box score.

i feel bad for marcus hudson, and it was pretty beatup what philip did to him. having played with marcus, philip knows exactly what marcus can and can't do. obviously, philip knows that marcus isn't the quickest of players, and he also knew that marcus was making his first appearance this season. i wish he wouldn't have punked a former teammate like that - throwing a td pass on him.

I doubt this one play will be seen as that critical given the fact that the Chargers rolled up 48 pts. Now if he had been abused like Ahmad Carroll for the Packers against the Eagles on MNF, then yes. But because of one big play, I'd say no. Plus the 49er D is about as good as Temple's D so it's not like they've got anyone better.
