lets call it like it is

it has nothing to do with getting money and giving it to people who need it, because the government is quite inefficient at doing that...

it has everything to do with class warfare and people that don't want anyone else to have shit just because they don't have shit, or don't care to try to have shit

I'm not upper class, but I damn sure plan on being upper class... I don't hate or have a problem with people that have money, class warfare is stupid, i don't see why everyone doesn't strive to have a bigger piece of the pie

Well Grumpy, I know you saw it coming, but I have to disagree with you that a government program could more efficiently distribute inherited wealth than the market. Sure, its a difference in government faith, but I'd more certainly trust buying luxury goods that spread wealth around than to give it over to beauracracy.

You mean, input into the market doesn't get diverted through government anyway?

I'm not sure what you mean. Sure, there will be some taxation and government oversight in the market (too much, but oh well) but it isn't the same as handing it to the government for complete distribution.

what is going to happen to Nancy is.....Dems have, i think, 13 seat majority, lots of conservative Dems, Nancy aint gonna be able to control them....so, the GOP is going to start courting them all, so they will probably get stuff through despite Nancy....and Nancy will be a lame duck Speaker for 2 years. Also, since the new majority leader she doesnt trust(since he thinks she only got the minority job way back when because Dems wanted a female), should be interesting....

She semi threatened them all and her candidate got killed....

"The grave-robbing death tax isn't even a very effective tax. For all the agony it imposes on families, it only raises about 1% of federal revenues.

The death tax is a tax on savings. A fair tax is one that taxes spending rather than income or savings.

Social security has a 100% tax at your death. You lose all that money ripped from your paycheck during your working life.

The motive to pass on wealth to your children is very great. What caring parent doesn't want their kids to get all the help they can in life. And what is wrong with this?

The vision of the taxman rifling through the pockets of a deadman for his last remaining pennies should embarass us all."

How about we just give the richest 1% our money, so it can trickle back to us?

At least that would stimulate the crack economy. People would start local crack businesses and usher in an era of prosperity. Trickle-down won't do fucking anything.

Are you trying to say that rich people saving their money is bad for the economy and that we would be better off if they spent it?

Its silly to think the rich aren't engaging in class warfare themselves. The least the non-rich can do is respond.

Thats bullshit. Rich people trying to stay rich is not class warfare. However, scapegoating a small portion of the population and penalizing them with excessive taxes wreaks of fascism.
