oh and if you hear a 6xx or 8xx or 99x unit that should be a Wake Sheriff Unit...

81xx and 82xx are Garner PD unit #'s

So along with the other channels you can currently hear Raleigh PD Channel 8 Special Ops which is patched into the Wake County Trunked system Talkgroup of Mutual Aid 3 Wake...why have this patch in place? for the Security at the Football game...just FYI

At approx 12:25pm I was at the intersection of Atlantic Ave and Millbrook. Turning left onto Millbrook from Atl. Ave was an old white car (camry maybe) with 2 RPD behind it, 3 officers were around the car with guns drawn. The light turned green and the car took off, with RPD in chase going on Millbrook toward Capital Blvd.

Any info on what happened next by chance?

^^Some cities let you follow some of the CAD Traffic Real Time (ie: Los Angeles)...but nothing for this area...and you damn sure ain't gonna pick up the in car dash cameras...the feed from that is sent directly to VCR tape or computer hard drive locked in the trunk of the squad car....

^ wireless mic that the cop wears is (BUT it is very low power & you have to be within a few feet to hear it)...but the video feed is hardwired from camera straight to trunk where either a VCR tape or hardrive is locked up to prevent tampering...

^ 10-4...hence the milliwatt low power for the mike...cop (hopefully) only gonna be couple feet away from squad on a stop so the mike only has to transmit->camera

^^Zapped--per FCC regs a repeater has to "Identifiy" its callsign every 10 mins...what you hear is the station or repeater "Callsign" transmitted via Morse Code to satisfy FCC regs...but you will also hear Raleigh/Wake County dispatchers still use FCC Callsigns even though they don't need to due to repeater IDing for them via morse code...us radio buffs know all of the calls Raleigh PD Channel 1 Dispatch is "KSZ446"...Raleigh FD was KII313 or "K-Double Eye-3-1-3"...and my favorite no longer in use for Garner WNCK345...

Also Zapped...remember this is a scanner...so what you are hearing is whatever the scanner owner decided to program into his scanner...this could be everything from Police/Fire/Rescue to Aircraft Entering/departing RDU Airport to TTA Buses...so the TTA Buses are not "Talking on the police bands" you are just hearing what this user has programmed into his scanner...I am gonna talk to this guy about weeding out the TTA Buses though I never listen to them on any of my radios...

Also, it'd be pretty cool to be able to record continuously, and have it time marked so when i get home, and have seen something, i can skip back to that time and check it out

I am still trying to decide on whether or not to include NCSU PD/Fire on my feed...I know yall would like it included but they talk about such mundane stuff sometimes and it would tie the radio up from other stuff on Raleigh PD/Wake Sheriff...but yall let me know what you want to hear and I will do my best to include it....
