I believe the caliber of the bowl game is the only thing that dictates the money...ie a school/conference gets more money for a BCS bowl (ie Wake) than the Muffler Bowl (ie Boston College)

Yea for a two time national championship team their stadium and other facilities are lacking. However, they have done some imporvments since last year, and the word is they are getting several million dollars in upgrades over the next few years. More seats on he visiter side for one.
