a) Move Costner back to the 3.
b) Use subs.

Farnold Degand will be our point guard, as will Johnson after 1st semester.

^^^ it allows A LOT more versatility in our offense. we can go big, bigger, small (ish), just by rotating the guys in. not many teams would match up with mccauley/hickson at C, smith/hickson at PF, Costner at SF, grant/fells at SG. that'd be damn near an NBA size lineup.

We really should have broke the bank for OJ Mayo. I'm not sure if we have the funds to match what SC is paying him though.. they have a revenue machine in football so they can afford to give their players larger bonuses I'm sure.

If we really want to compete with UNC and Duke we need to commit more $$$ to the incoming players for real though..

What makes you think there is consensus that LA is higher quality of life than Raleigh? Or that this "quality of life" outweighs ACC hoops for a serious basketball player?

^ believe it or not, more goes into these decisions than quality of location. although probably not so much in mayo's case, as he's planning on heading out in a year regardless.

this has been discussed a lot, and it's common knowledge at this point that farnold and marques will be our point guards next year.

haha, that depends on what part of CA you are talking about
not to mention earthquakes, mudslides, fires, ass loads of smog, terrible traffic
that sounds like a great place to live
no to mention the gross difference in cost of living and the commutes in and out of the cities for work

have you even ever been to LA....its so overrated

I think Degand and/or Johnson should be able to run the point or 2 guard for us. Jai Lucas would be a great get, but I don't see it happening unless Grant is deported or someone transfers (scholarships).

One question: have we allocated Brackman's scholarship yet (assuming he is gone)?

Since he transferred prior to the start of the spring semester, he will be able to play at the conclusion of the fall semester next year, b/c that will be one full year he has to sit out.

C - McCauley, Hickson, Lewandowski
PF - Costner, Smith
SF - Grant, Horner, Thomas
SG - Fells, Ferguson
PG - Degand, Johnson

That's 12 scholarship players. Did I miss any of the scholarship players that we'll have next year?

Until some major strides are made, Fergy and Horner will be on the bench next season. It might not be wise to assume the incoming freshman will play over them, but by January 1, I believe Smith and Thomas will be top reserves, and obviously Hickson will be in the regular rotation

Duke's only got 3, and G-town at #11 only has 3. I think that our 3* Johnny Thomas is what is keeping us out of the top 10. Not that I am complaining, because this was a hell of a recruiting class put together by Sid. I'll take top 20 recruiting class any year!!! (as should all, well some of you are not within reality, so I will say 'most' of you)

Eh, recruiting rankings are nice and all but we've had a pretty fair amount of Top 25 classes the last decade and it hasn't translated to more than a single short Sweet 16 appearance.

It matters more how you develop them and coach them. And if any of you fucks turn this into a gay coaching argument you should be suspended...

I'm just saying that if you don't have a top 20 class you are most likely screwed in this conference, unless you find some hidden gems. Also your comment about how it's not the ranking of the player, but how you develop/coach them, i agree with that. As for the suspending comment, think about what you are saying, and apply the last decade of recruits to the coach. You made my point for me.

We're going to take one more in this class. Mark that down. The chance of everyone staying around after next year is very slim, and the coaches are actively recruiting several true PGs.
