the baby blue faggots had teh balls to go to cameron and taunt the duke students. they have pairs. it's the dark blue faggots that need to grow pairs, and respond in a less-bitchy fashion than they have.

i like treetwista though, he has good insights into rap music. yes lawd. apparently, though, his hatred for unc runs deep.

^ i dunno, i've had a lot of bad encounters with arrogant duke students (such as one of them telling me, while at wharton for my MBA - "they let state students into wharton??"), that i'm just not a big fan of them either.

I hate Duke FAR, FAR more than UNC. So I'm biased. But I don't give a shit. The Duke students should have manned up and made the kids lives a living hell at that game to the point they didn't want to come back. Instead they took the whining, complaining way out.

Fucking nerds, those Dookies.

The ammount of hours taken isn't even the thing that gets me. The point of free student tickets to the games is to have support for the teams at the games. The behaivor of these UNC students was detrimental to the team and I'm pretty sure there is a clause that any student who is not supporting the team can lose their privIlege to the free tickets...at any school.

Free athletic tickets is a privilege and thus can be revoked.

The behaviour of past Robertson students made the Student Senate revoke that privilege.

I don't see what is so "wrong" about this...even if UNC wasn't involved.

^I can't keep this up. You don't tell kids they are Duke students and then tell them they can only have some of the priveledges of Duke students. There's not supposed to be a "line". That's against the whole point of the program.

^^I don't think there's anything illegal about it, but it's a bitch move.

OMG, there are Chapel Hill fans out our camp-out!!!

I mean, was it a public safety issue or something? Were fights breaking out?

Unsurprising bitch move from Duke.

If we had a similar arrangement I would totally expect our school to implement a similar decree. And if they didn't I'd be pissed.

It's not like you are denying them access to the games. They can still get tickets in the general allotment. They just can't campout because of previous students behaviour.

Did you read the article? They are denying them free tickets and making them TRY to get walk up tickets, available to everyone (student or not) which they would have to buy. It's not the same as giving some State fans courtside seats and then others free upper level seats...

** This doesn't make me hate Duke or UNC anymore. It's just silly...

If they are UNC fans they need to go sit in the student section at the unc home games and leave cameron alone (unless they are going to cheer for duke).

V

you can try if you want (sit in the student section) but if somebody doesn't let you then you have no grounds to cry about it.

The problem with this 'argument' is that then the Duke kids would have gotten punished for it...possibly even had their K-ville ticket privileges revoked. Imagine that?

Technically they are sticking it to a small amount of their own students. It will be intersting to see if UNC responds and bans the Duke Robertson Scholars from the Dean Dome.

Duke can be bitches about this subject all they want but i will never show any sympathy for unc. Tarheel faggots tarnish our student section every year. Duke is a private university that can govern themselves and student tickets are a privilege. A privilege that may be revoked.

^Please, please please show me this agreement that you claim to know so much about. The one that says their free students ticket rights are any less revocable than any other Duke student's. Because that would really help your argument. It's easy to reference a document you know nothing about and use it to support your point.

Example: The Magna Carta fully supports the Duke student senate's decision.

well. a good friend of mine was a robertson scholar. i'll ask her. as far as she described it, you become an enrolled full-fledged duke student the semesters that you are taking classes at duke.

and as i mentioned before, it'd be all cool for them to revoke the ticket rights of those individuals who apparently caused a problem at the last game (if this is indeed true). but it is NOT alright for them to deny ticket rights to all of robertson scholars just because a handful of them caused trouble. this would be like not allowing any out-of-state students at ncsu not have tickets because a handful caused a ruckus at one game.

From the article

Quote :
"One of the key features of a program that is "unequalled in American higher education," according to its sponsors and officials on both campuses, is the idea that participants have "full student privileges" on both campuses. That includes access to courses, faculty, research opportunities and arts, cultural and sporting events.
"

To me, this means that they have just as much as a right to camp out as normal Duke students. This is why I don't understand why Duke's student government had the right to take away their main way to get tickets to basketball games. However, they obviously did have this right because the administration did not overturn the decision.

Student tickets are a privilege. Let's say fraternity X gets a block of free tickets, and some of their members cause a problem at a big game. Would you say it's right for them to prohibit that frat from getting those tickets?

Instead of the unc students ruining the duke students' time, the duke students should have been the ones causing the unc/robertson scholars to have a terrible time. Obviously had duke won the game then their outlook on this topic may have been different but the duke students should have been giving those faggots as much hell as they possibly could.

If they had never even been to the arena before, yeah i would oppose banning them. Future fraternity members should not suffer from past fraternity members actions just like future robertson scholars should not suffer from the actions of past robertson scholars.

^^ amen. good gracious. amen.

look, i work with one of the robertson guys who did this last year. i'm sure they were loud and annoying, but i doubt they did anything out of line. this dude that works with me is completely harmless. so it sounds ot me like the game was "ruined" for these dook kids by the team losing, not by some carolina fans.
