I think the QB battle is going to be up for anyone to win.
I don't see TOB playing favorites because he recruited this guy or that guy or whatever. He'll leave it open and the player he thinks is best suited to start come gametime will start, it's that simple. 1/26/2007 12:22:03 PM |

well, all I can say is that I will be shocked if Wilson or Evans starts, but I wont be surprised at all to see Matt Simms set back in the pocket that first series against UCF... 1/26/2007 12:46:25 PM |

my (expert, /sarcasm) take is that we'll get him after hearing that. before it was reported that he had narrowed it down to michigan state and us, and apparently michigan state is out. 1/27/2007 7:55:47 PM |

Also, Rivers came in and beat out Jatavis Sanders...I think it's safe to say that Beck and/or Burke is better. Different situation. The good news is O'Brien will have several options, and the best QB will play. 1/27/2007 10:16:44 PM |

does anyone know for sure if O'Brien plays the best players? Amato has a history of playing favorites 1/27/2007 11:32:36 PM |

^^I would guess he doesnt play favorites, look at BC's record vs. the talent they had for the past 4 years.... Unless his favorites are less talented players who he knows will perform well.... Especially as far as QBs are concerned, its not the most talented guy who gets the job, its the guy who plays better, regardless of his abilities (i.e., Stone vs. Evans)
Supposedly the knock against Simms is his consistency, but his leadership, arm strength and pocket presence are his upsides. If we get him we shall see....
Even if we dont land Simms, its good publicity for a bigname QB like him to be looking at us against a bigdog like L'ville when we havent even begun to play under TOB yet. Kinda feels like Sidney landing those monsters for next years class even though they hadnt seen much yet either.
Is good ! I like !

Revive an old topic here for a sec: I heard from some of the players that came by Damon's that Burke is outshining Beck, Evans, and the rest in practice. It looks like he's gonna be Red Tom's pick.... 3/25/2007 1:32:10 PM |

as long as their is one person in particular that is outstanding. don't need a controversy for the 3rd year in a row. 3/25/2007 1:50:34 PM |
