I hate carbs. But maybe I wouldn't be so pissed off at them if my first bike wasn't a '93 GS500E with fucked up carbs that never ran right and almost killed me several times in traffic

The day I decided to buy an RR was the day the GS finally almost killed me. I was taking a left turn from a stop across two lanes of traffic in front of a blind-ish corner. The engine cut out entirely as soon as I got out into the path of traffic, without enough momentum to keep going. When it did that, I knew it would never start right back up, so I had to freakin push myself off the road with my legs. A full size pickup came flying around the corner and I about pissed myself. Life before my eyes and all that crap, lol.

I'm sure it had to look quite hilarious though

I saw it, its sweet and clean. Unmolested like Kyle's or my bike. Hasn't been violated and has low low miles on it. Hardly ridden...

and I might pick up another cheap 600rr, wrecked... Rolling chassis.

i had a "cut off when it pleased" bike also. POS 83 honda nighthawk 750. it'd lose parts going down the beltline. literally. 2 mufflers and a motor mount in the time i owned it.

Yeah I would say grow to be a better rider on your current bike - there's really no reason for you to upgrade except that you want to. Nonetheless I had a lot of fun out riding today. (Damn, does my butt really look that good in my riding pants?)

^^who said my bike has been molested or raped? I take very good care of that unit, maintenance is all up to date.

hey, I'm not sorry i ride a super sport bike the way it's supposed to be ridden. On weekend rides with the boys she is aloud to stretch her legs.

recover the seat black/spray paint ur rims. dont be insecure about purple. i had a purple bike, jeff had a purple bike hell igor had a purple bike.

as long as its not pink... Four reasons to wear pink if your a guy:

1. You're gay
2. You're really secure about your manhood (6ft+ 250lb kinda guy who can defend his own turf)
3. You're an attention whore
4. You're color blind and the friends that helped you picked out the clothes either hate you or thought it would be extremely funny...

Nobody really wants the purple bike, you just deal with what you got, ive thought about spraying the rims and getting the seat recovered, im just not sure if i want to drop any cash into this bike. Ive alwasy been under the impression that you cant polish a turd. I did however think about covering the entire thing with a vinyl.

spraying the rims urself would be roughly 10 dollars. recovering the seat would be like 50?

spray paint. you could do the whole bike in an afternoon. might be cheaper to get the seat dyed vs. recovered. or buy another one off ebay or something.

^^yeah dude just cover the tires in newspaper and tape. get a friend who has a stand to take ur rims off so u can just spray that shit.

i would use high temp flat black grill paint. it really doesnt matter tho. hell i would spray the seat too.

you don't have to have them. i've never used them, i've always jacked mine up and strapped them to cinder blocks with ratchet straps. or suspended them from my engine hoist, but most people don't have one of those.

do katanas of that vintage have a work stand also or just a regular kick stand?

regular kick stand only i think.you can use jackstands under each side of the swingarm fairly well instead of the rear stand. lifting the front end it more tricky because of the plastics and the header.
