DeMario had wrist surgery durring the off season. He didn't get injured, he just isn't recovered enough to practice/play yet.

"why was Demario not playing?"

i think he has recovered from the wrist surgery, but he got a foot injury a couple weeks ago (he sits next to me in class some). i think he said he can take the brace off after 3 weeks or so, so i'd guess it's coming off soon. don't know how long until he can practice after that.

^was that the play where he ripped off his helmet in the endzone?

I didn't even see a flag, but I couldn't believe he did that.

That was the play where he ripped his helmet off. I knew a flag was coming after that. I saw TOB talking to him on the sidelines right after it, but he didn't seem to be yelling.

^no thats our other kicker, Nathan Franklin....not sure why he didnt kick yesterday, unless he is going to be our punter...which he also did well in HS. Czajkowski is outta Virginia btw, and he went out and got a tattoo of the Block S on his left arm right after he committed to us.

bunch of pictures on packpride:

http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/2/635754.html

and yeah Burke didn't look stellar . . . but the second team Oline didn't exactly give him the best protection.

The guy who had that real long reception is a walk-on

Yes he was. That was Franklin, the kid from Wilmington. Pierson was the left-footed kid who I believe is a junior. But the two redshirt freshmen kickers, Czajowski and Franklin looked really solid out there. Franklin's hangs on his punts were simply beautiful.

^^Isn't Czajowski from Georgia? Anyway they both have good legs which is needed since kickoff is from the 30 now in college too.

I knew Pressley was hurt, but what about Ray Brooks? He should be a junior this year correct? Why wasn't he out there?

well, our punter is going to be a juco guy in all probability. so don't get too hung up on the punts you saw yesterday.

and an interesting aside, the guy sitting behind me was wearing a bears superbowl XX ring. i didn't bother asking how he was apart of that team, but he was too old to have been a player.

^^Brooks is pretty much gone I believe. Too many problems over the past few years with him.

and no, Czajkowski is from Virginiahttp://www.gopack.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=41954&SPID=3730&DB_OEM_ID=9200&ATCLID=592827&Q_SEASON=2007

tailgates off to mid season form. This is part of our tailgating crew Oh and Nathan is a freshman from Hoggard...he was on JV while connor was on varsity, then connor graduated and he was on varsity and now he graduated and came here and connors brother who was on JV while he was on varsity is now the hoggard varsity kicker and being looked at by nc state, unc, ND, etc. Basically since 2001 hoggard has had awesome kickers. Bradley went to my sisters high school -East Duplin. He wasn't that good then but he is damn good now. Wonder why he wasn't allowed to kick yesterday?

about the penalty thing. TOB didn't yell at Blackmon, but he sure enough let him have an earful. He "calmly" pointed out that since the other team would accept the penalty on the kickoff they would have 16 sec to throw into the endzone from the 40 instead of having to return a kick and start at the 20.

I'm tired of the Burke looked terrible crap. He has the best motion and made good decisions...playing with the 2nd string offense. If you would have stayed for more than the first quarter, you could have seen it. All Beck did was throw it 50 yards and not complete any of them. Burke is def. a contender for the spot, but DE had a great game...we'll see.

I'm still undecided on Burke . . . but Beck def likes throwing the long ball. Thats fine as long as you can complete some, but he didn't. And the short passes he didn't have any touch, just rocketed them in there and the reciever couldn't catch it.

Evans def looked the best on Sat, although he made several mistakes and should have also had an interception or two.

I agree with the interceptions but post the stats. Plus Burke's first INT was like his 1st or 2nd throw of the game. Not to say it should have happened but you have to point out the good passes too. He was def hitting crossing routes.

I wouldnt be surprised to see any of the three QBs starting. You cant draw any conclusions from the spring game other than that it is Evans' job to lose still. Unfortunately we wont be there to see how he does it if he does, but thats why we're not the head coach and Red Tom is...

I personally was most impressed with Beck's size and strength. He obviously has the most potential (athletically), but then again we said the same thing about Marcus Stone.....
