oh man no doubt....im already shopping around for one....i mean, we go out there all the time and skate the same places....but i came out from the underground deck i guess and went to the right down the rest of that hill and just lost control and tried to go up on the sidewalk and a lip of cement stopped me and i ate it....but i really dont know, its scary but none of it is coming back to me....and that freaks me out and confuses me cuz i have always noticed that lip of cement there and have always been like ok never try to go up that....and i guess i did, so im lost...haha, any way....i dont remember skating so at least im not iffy to start skating again. haha

Every time that my board begins to speed wobble, I immediately imagining my face bouncing on the pavement. I'm glad you're all right, dude.

do 'high-performance' mtn boards to have brakes? I would imagine they could be beneficial... I mean on the street is one thing, but flying down a trail?

I'll probably be up there Thursday night to some time Sunday.

I'd love to try that freeboard or the mountain board, especially that mountain board if I could get a kite up.

bmdurham and I are meeting this evening around 6, and then possibly rolling out to somewhere else after skating around a bit.

I'm game for this weekend too.

I just bought a 'short' longboard earlier today and a new set of randals.

bmdurham, when I was putting it together I remembered that you can flip the hangar on those randals to drop ride height like 3/8 to a half inch. You can also put the tall bushing on the bottom and drop it even more than that. I'm making cutouts for the wheels and cutting drop mount holes later tonight.

Well, here it is. I finished up the drop mounting at my Dad's this afternoon and hit some hills. Its 32" nose to tail, 25" wheelbase. After riding it a bit I'm pretty sure its too short for me... Not enough room on deck... Carves like a steak knife though; not as nice as bmdurham's new ride especially since he has much grippier wheels but this thing is a nice change. The pintail I normally ride feels like a boat after messing about on this board, albeit a fast, stable boat

Hope to see you guys out soon. Tuesday maybe?

Also I'm going to be ordering some stuff soon. If anybody else needs something we should go in on it and save shipping.

^Wait so you made the cutouts and dropouts?

what was the original board?

Its the GS32. I got it scratch and dent for $30 at the skate shop on peace and started hacking. The trucks are randall 180 with 65mm kryptos. 150s would be good too I think. I want some stickier wheels for it. These slide too much carving hard on the steeper hills.

To the guys who asked if the "Po" ever say anything. I have had one run-in, but it was at least a year ago and in the middle of the day in the underground deck, he just said not skate during the day so we dont get squashed like flys. I have been riding through centennial at night and the Po pass but they never do anything.

^^^ It seems a little too tail happy when sliding doing it the way i do now. I need to make some gloves and try some of the standard slides. I'm sure its either me or the setup.

^^ It was the only one he brought out but there might be another one. If not there will be eventually I imagine.

^good to know. I saw a police suv parked running up at the top of the tall deck last night and then on their way down, and they didn't say anything. I took the elevator to the 4th floor just in case plus the lights weren't on up top anyhow.

I've always had the back end swing around when going to slide. When you lean back you have to break the back wheels free and if you don't go all into the slide the front will just rotate around and you will end up doing a 180

or that is what happens to me.

I have a similar issue with this board, especially going much faster than lowest necessary slide speed. The turny rear just wants to go.

I'd really like to learn to pump well. This board seems to be capable of it. Are randalls ok for pumping or should I stick an Indy on the back?

I'm not sure but I sure can get mine going while pumping and I've got the 150mm randalls and they work very nicely.

I practiced some yesterday. I don't have the flow down yet but I 'felt' it a few times... Just gotta train myself.

I love that parking deck cause I can practice and look like an idiot without anyone seeing me

Lets try to start planning a big group ride.

We can have chase cars/lifts without too much burden on each person and hit some nice long runs. I know I have two tests this week, but how about this weekend sometime?
