robert morris is playing like they're scared of our center, goring. they triple team her on defense. and they're scared to put up a shot near her. haha! raaaaaawr!

man, this game is stupid. is everyone in favor of a "tech fall"/mercy rule? there's no way robert morris will come back to win this. this is really sad.

Funny that they get to play in RBC center because Reynolds is their regular coart.

I just got back from the game today. It was a very disappointing crowd today. Let's hope that it will be a bigger crowd for Tuesday's game.

This thread is really funny. Looks like they had 15 people show up in RBC center today.

The number of people there today was pretty pathetic. However, they were a really enthusiastic group. I got emotional when Coach Yow got a standing ovation before the game.

The number of people there was rather pathetic...I've seen more people at women's games in Reynolds. I'm definitely disappointed in the student body's lack of turnout (as usual), but I think Athletics really dropped the ball on this--it seems like they've ceded turnout for the Women's game to the NCAA.

Where were the young girls' basketball teams and/or girl scout troops that usually drive me crazy with their unrelenting screaming? Where were the sororities, who had great turnout for the Hoops for Hope game a few months back? And why on earth was the end zone seating left empty? It was fuckin' embarrassing.

If Athletics doesn't do something significant, turnout for Tuesday's game is going to be equally as dismal, with the men playing in the NIT that night in West Virginia.

^^ The Duke versus whoever game would follow our early game, though.

I got a call tonight that they were planning to move the game time up, but no information's on gopack yet.

Great idea on the NIt viewing that would bring more State fans in but I think Duke plays right after us. There are TV's back in the concourse that state fans could catch that game on though. People that were there today were good but the turnout was pathetic compared to how many fans were at the Carolina game, Hoops for hope and the ACC tournament. Maybe its because we played a crappy team today, Duke didnt have many fans either and their womens games are usually packed. But we play Baylor Tuesday and they were ranked most of the year so it should be a good competitive game. Oh and just a random observation from today, Tennessee-Chattanoogas band blew the other 3 (State, Baylor, Robert Morris) right outta the building, they were awesome lol

I thought the Robert Morris mascot was cool as shit. The dude was dancing like hell whenever their band played.

Also, I didn't notice the booing that Robert Morris fans did when Coach Yow came out. Did anyone here notice that booing?

$30-45 a pop will keep the girl scout troops and whatnot home.

That's right the NCAA is not going to give away loads of free tickets to entire elementary schools like Athletics could do in Reynolds, we're just hosting, the NCAA is in control here.

^^ Tickets weren't that expensive--they were $16 for the afternoon session--but that's beside the point. I refuse to believe that the Athletics Department couldn't figure out a way to get more people in the seats.

Jesus f'n Christ...the woman's been head coach at NC State for 32 years...you think Athletics could get it together for what might be the lady's last game at the helm in front of a home crowd. Hell, buy the damn seats and give them away.

I was impressed with their band and mascot, actually.

I didn't...but when I read that, I was about to fire off a not-so-nice e-mail to their head coach. Then I read his post game comments:

It was an honor to be on the same court as Coach Yow. I wish their program the best and certainly we are going to be pulling for them as they make their run for a NCAA championship. - Robert Morris Head Coach Sal Buscaglia

Game Times:
No. 1 Duke vs. No. 8 Temple, 5 pm
No. 4 NC State vs. No. 5 Baylor, 7:30 pm

Yea, the size of teh NCSU crowd..WAS FUCKING LAME!!!! There were more gradutes, and elderly alumni there than current State fans/students......WTF....

It would be AWESOME if even half of the crowd that came to the Men's Game on Friday come out and support the Lady Pack, they played there asses off, adn im guessing most of you were sleepign in due to being hung over the night before...the venue was sweet...and our next opponent-Baylor had one HELL of a crowd from TX with them, and they won the National Championship in 2005...so it would be NICE if once JUST ONCE..the students at NCSU acted as if they were thankful for Coach Yow, adn the Lady Pack for working just as hard as the guys bball team....

...I enjoyed the game, but I felt bad taht when Coach Yow hit the court only one side of the gym was barely filled.....Tuesday at 7pm.....you know most of you wont have shit to do anyway...but regardless Ill be there so whatever!

I was behind the NC State bench and could barely hear the boos from all the way across court in the Robert Morris section. It looked like it was just 3 or 4 students (who may not even know whats been going on with Coach Yow, I dunno) but hey we didnt boo the Robert Morris coach.

$16 tickets arent keeping people from the game....even if they were free, our fanbase still wouldnt attend.

^ I'm not talking about the part of our "fanbase" (and I use that term loosely) who would never come out to a women's basketball game anyway...they don't count.

I'm talking about people who have come out to games, by all accounts enjoyed themselves, and didn't show up on Sunday afternoon. What can be done by the Athletics department to ensure that those people make it out to the game?

The problem is probably that it is NCAA games...Athletics can't just give away sections or do the same promotions that normally occur. Also, people probably chose sideline seats, they can't force people to sit in the end zone seats.

Seriously you guys, $11 if you are a student is not bad at all. Tape the NIT game and watch it later. You yelling at your TV during the game live or a couple hours later will not change the outcome. A bunch of people coming and yelling at the women's game live could help make a difference.

Also, it was a very good idea that they sold women's tickets for better than half price when you bought your men's NIT ticket...I really thought that would have helped.

As far as I know, there's no option for end zone seating. I just got my tickets for tomorrow's session and if there was an option, I would've taken it.

I realize that the Athletics department can't give away tickets (I said that above), but I can't imagine that there's not a way for them to step in and do something. The lady devoted the last 32 years of her life to our Athletics program...it's the least they could do.
