I don't give a shit what anyone says...

Ruling Jack out since he has already played the part,

the best choice for a new Joker would be Johnny Depp

This man was born with the Joker's face, along with an off beat personality.

i agree that crispin glover was the natural choice

but he's a loose cannon that has been known to be hard to work with - this is nolan's vision, not glovers, so i can see why they didn't go for that.

anyways, i'm happy with the ledger choice. he can make Joker sexy, alluring, and still fucking psycho. That seems to be the way Nolan wants to present him, so I'm curious to see how it will turn out. I dont think we'll ever look at Ledger the same way after this movie though.

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Dark-Knight-Makes-History-Joker-Spotted-5289.html

^Latest pics plus news that this film will be shot partially in the 70mm IMAX format. These pics look badass . I love how they have gone with these masks for the Joker and his goons. Reminds me of the Joker in the animated series. I also love the fact that one of the four scenes that will be shot with this special feature will be the introduction of the Joker. Can't help but wonder if it will be as dramatic as Jack Nicholson when he learked out of the shadows in the '89 film. Regardless, I think that Christopher Nolan is doing an awesome job with this franchise and doing his best to keep Batman true to his roots and his fan's happy.

^yeah, batman begins was incredible...
but they are replacing Katie Holmes with Maggie Gyylleenhaaalll
so this movie will probably be better by default

I think the marketing for this movie is genius - it only makes the movie more appealing.

i wish christopher nolan would do more superhero movies. i really like his dark, edgy take on it (yes i know batman is supposed to be dark, but the x-men would be cool done that way too)

"You can't help but get excited (or at least I can't) every time some new thing from The Dark Knight pops up online. The latest is a shadowy picture of Batman on the "Batpod," which is considerably more badass than it sounds.

The front and rear tires are both a monstrously huge 508 millimeters, and the engines are in the hubs of each wheel. Steering isn't by hand but by shoulder, since there aren't handlebars. Instead, there are shields that fit each arm like sleeves and have the ability to rotate around the bike's frame. The two foot pegs are set 3 1/2 feet apart on either side of the tank, which the rider lies on, belly down.

It's also equipped with machine guns, cannons (difference, uncertain), and grappling hooks.

In the film it is supposed to have been designed and built by Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman) for Batman, though Nathan Crowley designed it for the actual production. He was also the brains behind the new Batmobile from Batman Begins. Just one more thing to look forward to during the next 13 months. "

Found some good stuff on the batman-on-film site today but it got yanked for being too 'spoilerish'. The author explains why he did it here: http://www.batman-on-film.com/batmovienews.html

I do remember most of the details though. It was mentioned that Harvey Dent and Rachel Dawes are dating for sure, that the Scarecrow does return, that the Joker is not a funny character that he was in exact words a bastard, and that this batpod breaks away from the Tumbler in a scene in which Batman appears to (but doesn't actually) die. If what the "The Goon" guy reported for Batman on film is true I am wondering who is going to be the Scarecrow??? Cilian Murphy already has gone on record as saying that he was unfortunately not returning for the sequel.

I am curious as to who Anthony Michael Hall is playing. He won't say. Rumor has it, it is a guy who is kind of an aid yet at the same time a potencial problem for the Caped-Crusader. Any ideas guys?? It has also been out there too that many of the plot details are leaking online. I've had no luck so if any of the aces out there can find them on the 'internetz' I'd appreciate it!

http://www.batman-on-film.com/TDK_the-look-of-the-joker.html

* His clothing gives off a “…a demented Willy Wonka” vibe. The Joker also “…wears a long velvet purple trench coat with a diamond pattern purple shirt, a green vest, and very waist high purple pants. He sports purple gloves and a very long chain wallet.”

lol. love the chain wallet part. This Joker really sounds jacked up!

Heath Ledger is gonna have a hard time convincing me that he's a good joker, Jack Nicholson owned the roll and left some big shoes to fill.
