I put this up there with USA soccer last year. They had the chance to resurect the sport, and the worst outcome possible happened.

lets add up the facts:

Mayweather threw less punches, and landed more

De la Hoya was visibly tired after the 8th round and wouldnt throw a good combo of punches until the last 10 seconds of every round, while Mayweather seemed to get better as the fight went on

I was rooting for Oscar the whole fight, but it was obvious who the better fighter was. THE ONLY REASON THERE WAS A SPLIT DECISION WAS SO THERE WILL BE A REMATCH. It was so painfully obvious that it made me sick to watch, both fighters claiming that they are done with the sport, but we all know that once that big ass $20 million+ paycheck is waved in front of their face (just like it was before this fight) Mayweather and DLH will get back into the ring to "settle the score once and for all".

Neither fighter gave a shit about this fight, neither had a scratch on their face in the afterfight (aside from a slightly swollen eyebrow on Mayweather). It was all bullshit dancing, filling time, making way more money than was deserved and sucking the life out of boxing

Boxing is over, I truly do not think that anything short of Muhammad Ali having a grandson who becomes a champion boxer can save the sport at this point
