it's sidney lowe's kid...not sidney lowe, not a player, not an ncsu student.

this will have zero effect on recruiting.

this will have zero effect on sidney's coaching job.

this will have zero effect on nc state.

this will have a large effect on sidney lowe II for his decisions.

anyone who tells you differently is wrong.

Hence, this should not matter to parents sending their kid to nc state. Plus, we have more people on staff than Sidney to watch out for the players.

All of you who are shocked by the six counts of kidnapping don't know what kidnapping is. It's not always like tying somebody up and throwing them in your trunk. Forcing someone to move from one room to another room in their home can be considered kidnapping.

Yeah, let's not get into this nonsense either. I bet he's associated with a lot of folks; no need for everyone to chime in with their opinion when they probably don't know shit.

All that means is that he most likely "detained someone against their will". Like they had guns and wouldn't let the people leave the apartment = kidnapping. You can be charged with "unlawful detainment" which is akin, or the same, to kindnapping simply for blocking the door and not allowing someone to leave.

^^^^And every other website. But last I checked, the N/O wasn't keeping up with it.

^^No, it's pretty bad, but it's not like tying up six people and driving them to another location.

I will mention now that everybody knows the Greensboro police are corrupt.

Don't know shit about the UNCG police. But the Greensboro police are notorious. Those charges could be out and out bullshit so they can get press and then not follow through. And the UNCG charges could amount to smoking weed, having crazy ass friends, and being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

no, there are good reasons why poor kids turn to crime: need for money, lack of education, poor self-esteem, misguidance, lowered expectations, etc. rich kids have abundant resources available to them. the only reasons for them to act a fool are a craving for attention, or they glorify criminal behavior.

why does the son of a millionaire need to be robbing?

from my times at working at the courthouse they always charge you will all possible counts (even if one is a lesser offense of the greater charge). Likely most of these will be dropped in court, hopefully he was just with bad company who did all the shit. Still bad press, and he is likely to plead to at least some of these charges even if they are reduced.

Man this is REALLY embarrassing.

What a black eye.

This is going to be used by outsiders to discredit our program for at least the next decade.

And we had so much momentum too...

Let's just hope Jim Rome or someone doesn't crucify us nationally.

Ugh, if this were professional sports it would be swept under the rug but collegiately this is gonna leave a mark.

I wonder if we could get Herbie back...

A sign of a good parent is how they respond when their child screws up. You guys need to quit freaking out. They way Sidney responds is going to impact recruiting WAY more than his son's screw-up. Just give it time, and see how it plays out, I guarantee Sid will do something classy in response.

look - shit happens

my godparents are my parents best friends from college and their son is in prison for drugs and their daughter has three kids and is divorced at 25

they are good people and tried their best - sometimes you have to let kids fuck up and hope they learn. some will some won't - but no matter how much leash you put on them in HS, when they are 18, they are going to do what they want.

well if lowes adult son getting into trouble is his fault, then those parents shouldnt worry about their kid unless they raised him wrong

i think most parents understand that its not a parents fault if an adult son in another city does something wrong

you have to be a pretty pessimistic parent if you are worried about your child going to prison - there are thugs out there, sure, but most parents are more concerned about their child's ability to play, learn, and get to the NBA

You people saying it won't hurt anything are thinking as an NC State fan.

Try being some mother from Colorado or somewhere, and you're shipping your kid off into some stranger's hands. This will hurt, like it or not, on at least some level.

you guys are a bunch of knee jerk reactionary crazy people.

AT worst it might affect that shit for year, but after that - it'll be so far out of mind it doesnt even matter. So fucking what.

This sucks for one person and one person only. Sid. I don't think this will have any effect on our furture success as a program. Give it a rest

who is advocating sid beating his son's ass? The kid is facing some major charges and likely doing time, I don't think he needs any punishment from his parents at this point.

^ that would be a below the belt move that I imagine at least most coaches would want to stay away from
