ginn reminds me of bush, except they actually line him up at WR

cant believe they didnt get quinn though. i'm a dolphins fan, and not a quinn fan, but i'd resigned myself to the pick cause it just made sense.

yeah, I mean Ginn is good, but nothing crazy. The gap (if there is one) between Ginn and Meachem, Bowe, Jarrett is a lot closer than the gap between Quinn and the other QBs

yeah i dont really get that pick.. Quinn could have a Aaron Rogers kinda fall but I wonder if Green Bay(not being happy with Rogers to take over for Favre) or Jacksonville(not happy with their starting QB's) would grab him

OK, so now who takes Brady. The first team that really needs to take a QB is KC (assuming Trent Green is traded) at #23 or maybe, maybe Dallas at #22. The only other one is Baltimore at #29.

panthers can take quinn, start carr for a year or two, and trade delhomme to bonjangles for a bucket of chicken.

V yes, good point with the tea. mario was predicted top 4 at least. i dont know if ginn was predicted first round, much less top 10

That pick was almost worse than the Texans taking Mario #1 over Young

this kinda reminds me of the nba draft last year when the knicks took balkman early in the draft when half the analysts thought he was either a 2nd rounder or undrafted.

Yeah, probably much worse than that, I figured Ginn would go in the 20's. This is like when the bills traded up to #10 last year and got that safety that was projected in the 20s.

And although I will defend Mario over Bush to the death, you won't find me arguing Mario over Young.

He wouldn't have gotten to 20, the bengals said they were going to pick him at 18 if he was still there. Which is why I'm soooo glad he's gone.

Houston has been taking some good picks to help out Mario, they are gettin a young D which is the right thing to do

now if they only had an O line

Isn't Okoye as young as Clarret was when he tried to go pro the first time?

If so, then how is this possible?

Houston knows what they're doing, they're building long term sustainable system

first defense
then running game
then passing game

The dolphins didnt really go out of the realm of possibility here

They have Culpepper who 3 years ago or some without Peyton having a record setting year would be one of the best QBs in the NFL.

They are probably going to acquire a very underrated Trent Green in a trade/signing.

they needed a good WR to help out Chambers especially with Welker gone....it makes sense really.

He is smart as hell. He started high school at age 12. He graduated at 15. There is no age rule in the NFL, only that you have to be 3 years removed from HS.

Except that Culpepper was only good when he Randy Moss with him, and had major knee surgery, and has looked like shit since Moss left. I've never liked Culpepper though.

Getting Trent Green would be great. So would getting another WR to bookend with Chambers, but you can't take Ted Ginn at #9, you aren't getting value there. They could have easily traded down 5, 6, or even 10 spots and still gotten Ted Ginn if he was their #2 WR on the board (Johnson was #1 on everyone's board). Stupid, stupid, stupid way to use the #9 overall pick.

I'd build my team first OT's...then QB...then DE's...then WRs and RB...then edge defensive players...then patch up the middle of the o-line, other offensive roleplayers, and the middle of the defense. I can imagine something similar to the Colts of last year this way, but...wait what are we talking about again?

Ummmm, yes the did, and you seem to be the ONLY person who doesn't think so.

Culpepper had a good year 3 years ago. He is injury plagued now, and is pretty much done.

Why aquire an underrated TG when you can take Quinn, he was a projected top 3 pick and he falls in your lap at 9. You can get another decent WR in the 2nd.

It makes no sense to take Ginn this early. As Kiper said it, "You don't take a 15-20 player with the 9th pick.

With the 10.5'th pick in the draft, the NFL commissioner selects: QB Brady Quinn, Notre Dame

I think that Ginn was a good pick, they needed him BAD as a WR, they have outs for QB and it wasnt a need...they might not have been able to trade down because the Rams wouldnt mind a new WR as Holt has said he would like someone such as him to take the other side of the field, Buffalo needs another WR to pair up and even Pittsburgh with an aging Ward.

they really either took him here or didnt get what they wanted, alot like the Cardinals taking their Lineman so early, they needed him although it was a high pick you have to go on NEED and ability to get him at th emoment.

really its not THAT bad.

not to mention ALOT of teams and scouts have said they dont even really like Quinn and would rather have the BYU QB.

they moved him to a private room so that he doesn't look so fucking awkward on TV, I mean really, Brady Quinn needs to learn how to keep himself composed while on TV

and I don't know how I would feel if the Pants take Quinn...

I dont think the panthers would take him given how bad their defense needs some help with a Reggie Nelson still on the board and other CBs and LBs that are avaliable.

I think St Louis may really give him a look or Carolina may make some trades and go with a defense heavy draft.

^they wanted someone that was special teams capable, Torry even saidddd himself on a show that he wanted another young WR to lineup with him that could also take over on special teams because they were so terrible.

and for those that dont know the NFL invites certain players to New York because they think or know they are going to be drafted high...so it was really their screw up by inviting him bankin on him goin high. it was a good gesture for them.

Panthers don't need Quinn, Jake Delhomme will make as servicable back up to David Carr, and Carr still has a good 6 years left in him.

Are you sure?? They have probably the most underrated receiver in the league in Chris Chambers. They've got former pro bowler Marty Booker. And McMichael is a badass at TE. Pretty damn good receiving corps to me.

Everytime I've see Ginn, he just strikes me as a DB trying to play receiver.
