Thank goodness Mike Ditka doesn't run a basketball team

Are there any good receivers in this draft? Maybe the Pistons could select one and let the Lions use him.

Why would the Lions accept that? He wouldn't be a top 10 pick

Anybody other than me think Al Thornton is going to be the next Josh Howard? Just wondering.

^Funny you ask. I posted this in the Bobcats' thread:

Quote :
"^Hmm I didn't really think about Al Thornton who should be a good NBA player. He is a lot like Josh Howard IMO and he is doing well. Any chance we might take him with our 2nd 1st rounder if he is available? Thoughts? I would like to have a guy like him."

^^haha, my bad...it's just whenever I saw Thornton play or watched highlights, he screamed Josh Howard all over again. I don't think Thornton will slip like Howard did.

read it earlier, and just heard it again on PTI so I'll throw it out there.. what do you guys think about the rumors that the Blazers are thinking of dealing for another top 3-5 pick(probably Atlanta, for Randolph and Jarret Jack) in an effort to try and pick up Conley as well as Oden.

-I think they can afford to lose Randolph and Jack esp if they are bringing in Conley and i think it sounds like a good idea, if they want to shell out all that money for 2 of the top 3 picks

I heard for aldridge and jack, tho I agree Randolph makes more sense

He wouldn't be lost among all the greats PF's out west

Plus Jack obviously has fans in Atlanta

Portland
PG: Mike Conley
SG: Brandon Roy
SF: Travis Outlaw
PF: Zach Randolph
C: Greg Oden

Atlanta
PG: Jarrett Jack
SG: Joe Johnson
SF: Marvin Williams
PF: Josh Smith
C: LaMarcus Aldridge

All these rumors about the Blazers trying to get Conley, Jr. as well as Oden are ridiculous on several levels.

One, good luck Portland...that is going to be an incredibly difficult deal to get done with any team.

Two, these two kids (Oden and Conley) need to grow up and give up the dream of playing with each other for the rest of their lives.

Three, as a Bobcats fan, I don't like all this Left Coast talent-loading. It makes for an unbalanced league.

As a Bobcats fan, this should make you happy, seeing as how its not getting any harder for us to be one of the top 8 teams in the East

As an NBA fan in general, its dissappointing because it means we'll see these stars less often and the Western Conference playoffs will continue to have 8 of the top 12 teams in the League.

But Jordan and Co., along with most of us here, were glad that Durant and Oden went out West if we weren't going to get them. The same way most Panther fans were pissed when Atlanta got Vick instead of Tomlinson at the time, although now those sentiments are reversed.

Great description article on how teams draft using the tier system. I just thought ppl would want to read. Plus, it's free.

I don't see any way Al Thornton is around at 22, and don't think it would be that early if the Bobcats took him with their first pick, especially if Brewer is already off the board. Julian Wright could be good as well, but Thornton is more NBA ready. He also has a better jump shot than Howard had coming out.

Tier 2 cuts off after 8 picks, so the Bobcats are gauranteed one of those 8 unless they reach for Noah or Julian Wright

all the Atlanta stations are reporting the Hawks are taking Acie Law at #3.

Either his is a misdirection ploy, or they are fucking idiots. Nothing against Law, hes really good, but they could probably get him or Conley at #11

not if the kings trade bibby like everybody's saying they're gonna do. Law and Conley would be gone at 11. They've passed on great PG's like 10 years in a row and have been forced to play tyron lue or whatever his name is...

that sounds misreported... I think they gave Acie Law a guarantee that they would draft him if he was still there, but at the 11 pick instead of the 3. Billy Knight isn't stupid enough to try and stretch for Law at 3.

no, its the "official word" out of the Hawks... but most people HOPE that it is just to throw people off and that they will either trade that pic, or maybe take Horford #3, and then either Conley, Law, or Crittenton at 11

i hope as many teams in the top 7 fuck up and pick somebody stupid

realistically i hope the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th teams fuck up cause you know Portland and Seattle cant really fuck up

Look, I'm a big Bibby fan, but if it means trading him just to rebuild, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I would rather trade Artest instead of Bibby b/c of the character factor. Bibby has two years left, but could opt out if he wanted to. I just think we (Kings) need to start over, and re-build around Kevin Martin.

ive got a friend coming to state that is a huge Queens fan, and i dont know why

yall should hang out, then maybe I could talk yall into being Bobcats fans

but seriously, its time to part ways with Bibby, and then send Martin to the Bobcats for Morrison and BK

we need to hold up on all the free agent talk until after the draft

just our luck, we pay an arm and a leg for carter or j rich and then at #8 brewer is still available

well I am to the point now that I think Brewer will be there

and If he isnt, then we should go ahead and take Noah

with all the swingmen in free agency we can go get one if we dont draft the one we want

Haha, I went to like three Bobcats games last season (Suns, 76ers, Heat), and I'm slowly turning into a fan, but not when they play the Kings.

You wish that we would trade Martin away. We gave you Gerald Wallace. Be happy you have him.

^Oh yeah, I got Brewer going to the Bucks at #6. Noah at #8 to the Bobcats.

with michael redd and the emergence of charlie bell would they go after brewer? seems to me they'd want some inside help for villanueva and bogut, but thats partially wishful thinking of me as a bobcats fan wanting brewer

yeah but yall had him stuck at the end of the bench

then traded CWebb

and picked up Crazy Artest

oh and let Wells go at some point

the Bucks will take Julian wright or Conley

Mo Williams is also an unrestricted FA. That was my reasoning.

Nevermind. Brewer is 6-8. He's nowhere near a PG.

They now have the same color scheme as the Bobcats, just they feature the blue more and we feature the orange

Definitely should have kept the red and yellow

maybe somehow since the Hawks are really dumb, we could convince them that trading the 8 and 22 for the 3 and 11 is a good deal
