just watched Redemption. It was good, i was impressed. I like the change of scenery.

I was struck with how much better the acting was for the main and especially secondary characters. The Presidents were cheesy and overly dramatic as always, but everyone else did very well.

Redemption wasn't bad, I just didnt like they way certain things played out to advance the plotlines and create bullshit drama.

Like that ex-special forces guy just running right into the mine, reality the dude would have just told the kid to stay perfectly still and slowly moved up and got him away, not dashed in and 'OOPS I STEPPED ON IT LOLZ IM SO CLUMSY.'

Also Jack would have never gotten captured if he'd scavenged ammo off the second guy he killed, he could have just reloaded instead of throwing the AK aside after half a clip and running off into the forest like an idiot. And I know im beyond nitpicky at this point but Jack really should have unfolded the folding stock on that AK he picked up too, I know he's freaking Jack Bauer but even he would have shit for accuracy firing that thing from an extended arm and not pressed up against his shoulder.

But all in all, I liked the episode, and I'll be excited to see that African gov't get overthrown and what drama that will bring, but the plotline with Jon Voight and the soon-to-be threat against Mrs. President's son's life just feels like the same old tired worn out Jack Bauer lines over again. JACK BAUER YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN SAVE THE PRESIDENT'S SON TO REDEEM YOURSELF AND RECIEVE A PARDON FROM YOUR SUBPOENA!

^^^^eh maybe, they weren't exactly in the same plane and I doubt the top plane's thrust was pointed directly at the other, but even then they only occupied the same area for a split second and had a ton of forward momentum
