The problem with TWWers trying to play devil's advocate is that most of you actually aren't informed enough to draw proper conclusions. You're looking at this crackdown and protests and saying "BUT SO WHAT, THAT SORT OF SHIT HAPPENS ON BRENT ROAD!" while ignoring the fact that Hugo Chavez:

1) Rules by presidential Decree (essentially a dictator)
2) Has reduced the work week by 5 hours to all state sponsered "education" to all Ven. citizens
3) Published a heavy socialist agenda that calls for state ownership of big sections of the private economy such as telecom and natural resources.

It's not that he's actively running deathcamps for opposition members but there's a pretty stark contrast between where he's actively headed and what we'd all consider democratic norm.
