This episode was absolute shit. What a waste of an hour. Why do the writers feel the need to include the archaic dialog? It made sense for Deadwood. Now it's just confusing for the sake of trying to be artistic.

But in the meantime it's pretty shittastic. My only hope is that the cool ending will make the pain of watching this long worth it. I have my doubts.

I like the show. Seeing as how the two shows that follow it are instantly gratifying (entourage and fotc), I kinda like having a show where I actually have to think and pay attention to all the subtleties.

I do agree that sean is a terrible actor though. Could it possibly be because he's NOT AN ACTOR? I figured this was fairly obvious. He's there because he can actually skate and surf

the yost family is loosely based on the kids'. His grandfather (herbie fletcher) was a big time surfer, and his dad (christian fletcher) was real big and then got addicted to crack. His uncle is in a few video games.

Sopranos
Entourage

and I'd put Dead Like Me below all of these, not really into it yet

^^ I would recommend against it. I like the premise of the show, but it moves slow (which is ok if the things that are happening aren't just filler), some of the actors aren't very good, and some of the characters (sissy esp.) are really annoying.

I'm not going to watch it anymore for now, i'll check this thread and if it starts getting better i'll watch more of them.

I kinda like the secrecy they are employing thus far. Once we get a better idea of what the hell John actually is (and why he has been sent) then I think it will spice up nicely. We already know that he has special powers and cant be killed. His whole story with Cassie thus far falls just stort of a pseudo-God-induced acid trip without the colors. They have also revealed that he communes closely with God and has the gift of bilocation. The real issue is that they havent laid out what the ultimate goal of this show is about yet (i.e. LOST through S3 and we still dont know). Given the buildup (I'm a sucker for God/2nd coming crap like this) and the HBO pedigree, I think that some crazy shit is bout to go down with this show before the end of S1 and then it will be easier to like...

I am SO confused. Sean being in the bar with the hotel owner? The whole jukebox thing? That whole scene alone has me in bewilderment. Nevermind the "Sean will soon be gone" plot b/c he's still going somewhere that much is obvious, and it's not Sea World.

And exactly, WHERE THE HELL IS MITCH??? He's off floating someplace I'm sure--but WHY? why can Mitch levitate?

I'm gonna say no as well. If you haven't wasted your time watching yet, I would highly recommend not starting. It could turn out that the last episode contains some sort of twist which explains every little detail and validates the entirety of the show, but if that's the case I'd still say you're better off waiting 2 weeks until the last episode and then re-asking if it's worth watching.

I'm guessing the answer will still be no, but hopefully I'm wrong.

I haven't watched the show since episode 3-4 and figured I would tune in for the finale to see how the show is going to end (it wont be renewed).
