Alright, so I read through the first 3 pages of the "For all our NCSU visitors..." thread, and wow...I don't know which is worse...them trying to convince themselves that they have gotten rid of a poor coach or that their current coach they have will do better. I guess the rest of the sports world doesn't know what they are talking about.

That said I think that TOB will be a good fit for NCSU, assuming he continues to do what he has in the past, plus beat UNC. (7,8,9 wins with one of which being UNC and another of which being a big team, and beating the teams we are suppose to{not losing to Akron, So. Miss, etc.}) This will make me happy.

The exact same results in Raleigh will mean Gator and Peach bowl bids slong with a few Champs/Music City in between. Tom O'Brien did everything at BC but win the conference and/or force his fans to show up. With better facilities, fan support, and a better recruiting destination there is no reason not to expect TOB to have similar results if not a higher ceiling.

Actually he ended up in a four-way tie for the Big East title in 2004. That year, Pitt held the tie-breaker and went on to get crushed by Urban Meyer's Utah team 35-7 in the Fiesta Bowl, while BC went on to beat UNC in the Continental Tire Bowl, now the Meineke Car Care Bowl.

You know when I read through the BC forum, somebody made a comment. How would you feel if Herb had gone to another ACC school...blah..blah...blah. Well Chuckles went back to FSU and he hasn't had anything good to say about NCSU. You know what? I couldn't give a rats ass. He's gone...bye Chuck (and I probably gave Chuck more of chance than anybody did). "Rolly Clown College," hahahaHAAAAA. I love it. I really do. Makes you think if they were so clever they would actually come up with a new acronym for NCSU, instead of RCC. They are mad because Tom O'Brien hasn't said anything nice about BC, why should he? All they did this past season was bad mouth him. Why because of a 3 loss season (us, WF (ACC Champs), and Miami)? I'm glad to have Tom O'Brien. Will we have an 9+ win season? Probably not, but I think we'll get back to a bowl game. The exact goal he has set for us. The comments about Jimmie V are stupid, I'll leave that the way it is. They make fun about us being from the same state as John Edwards...John Kerry enough said.

Chuck loves NC State, and loved our fan support. I've never heard Chuck bad mouth NC State, or even come off as bitter to the athletics administration after he was let go. The only people I've seen him bad mouth was the media around these parts. He once talked about how they called him flashy b/c he drove a Corvette. He then mentioned how Coach K drove a Jaguar, which is more expensive than a Corvette, yet they never called him flashy. The Corvette anyways is nicknamed The Common Man's Sports Car for a reason. It is way more affordable than most sports cars out there.

^ You're right, that really came out wrong when I said that. What I was trying to say, is that after his departure you really haven't heard anything from him. He did wear his FSU shirt to the NCSU/FSU B-ball game, but that can be expected. Amato has gone on several times to say that he would never do anything to hurt NC State.
