you are retarded

i don't think it's even really disputed that he did illegal steroids

and i don't give a shit if everyone else did them

and bringing race into this is fucking idiocy.

also, has it ever been established that Mark McGwire did steroids, or just prohormones (for whatever it's worth--depending on the stacks and dosages, the differences are more legal than practical...but still, being completely within the rules counts for something. You can only fault him so much he only pursued a completely legal advantage.)

Attn: Barry Bonds apologists/defenders

You guys DO realize that he ADMITTED taking steroids, but clarified that he thought it was flax seed oil? Bonds himself admitted it! Quit living in denial you idiots

mcgwire's gay little head shake at the congressional hearing pretty much sealed his fate as a juicer, at least in the minds of everyone with half a brain cell

It's like no one even read the article I posted. What a shame.

considering that the prohormones McGwire claimed to have been taken have no effect on the body at increasing testosterone levels or muscle growth, it would be hard to argue that McGwire turned into a mongoloid by taking placebos.

ah ok...i didn't know what he was taking. i just knew he'd been taking some sort of prohormones.

why would he bother to take prohormones if he was taking illegal steroids, though? just as a stack?

i'm not arguing for his innocence--just saying that he's at least not confirmed (like Bonds is) as a steroid user.

we don't know that he took them. When rumors first started circulating around clubhouses that McGwire was juicing, he conviently left a bottle of Androstenedione in his clubhouse locker. A reporter saw the bottle and ran with it, so the media went into an uproar about his prohormone usage. It was very smart on McGwire's part to leave the bottle out, but I doubt he was actually taking them.

Hopefully this will be the last time I post this, and thank you to the 1 or 2 people that have already somewhat clarified this in this discussion. I put this in every thread that comes up about Bonds, I don't understand how there are so many people out there that don't know the situation that like to go around claiming we don't actually know that he's taken steroids or that he hasn't been caught. Pay attention, do some research, or just remember the following:

Barry Bonds has admitted to taking both the cream and the clear, although he claims he did not know what it was he was doing. Barry Bonds has tested positive for amphetamines.

There is no longer a question of whether or not he has taken steroids. He has taken them. He has admitted he took them, and he has tested positive for amphetamines. End of speculation.

756 home runs against juiced up pitchers is still an incredible achievement. For all the hardheads that want to claim baseball is a clean sport - you will be in for a rude awakening when they finalize the piss test for HGH.

i didnt know there was ANY type of test (piss, blood, hair, etc) that could test for HGH?

and i dont think anybody thinks baseball is squeaky clean and that bonds is the only juicer...but that doesnt make it right...hank aaron hit 755 without the use of nutritionists, million dollar training facilities, personal trainers, steroids, etc

and assuming A-Rod doesnt juice, hitting more homers than Bonds against juiced up pitchers without juicing yourself is even MORE impressive than Bonds

That's a huge assumption about A-Rod. At least Bonds can claim that he stayed clean for the majority of his career.

The WADA is already using a blood test for HGH on olympic athletes. the MLB and other professional sports associations won't allow blood testing of athletes due to union restrictions, so they are funding for a piss test for HGH that should be implemented within the next two years. By that time, most athletes will have switched to the SARMS that are in developmental stages in every research pharmaceutical company in the world. Hell, there might already be some athletes ordering them from China even today.

Bonds can claim he never did roids too, doesnt mean he's not full of shit

and who knows about A-Rod? I know he's been hitting pretty consistently throughout his career...he didnt hit 40 a year like bonds, and then in his mid-late thirties start hitting 60 or 70 a year like no human is supposed to be able to do

wouldnt surprise me if any of them were juicing...but i'm rambling...as far as your quote, at least A-Rod can assert factually that he's never admitted taking steroids to a grand jury
