whaaaat a rip off!

I played the game where you have to Toss the softball off the slanted backboard and make it land in the small basket below. here's what took place..

I told the carnies... "You demonstrate it first, so i know its possible"

A guy steps out of the hut, and proceeds to lean waaay over the fence, bend down and lightly bounce the ball in. his arm couldn't have been but 3 ft away at this point.

"OK" so "I can lean in just like you did?" i asked after carefully analyzing his toss

he says "Yeah you can lean in as far as you want" he just knew i wouldn't make it anyway..

So i spread my legs to get a lower tossing angle, almost as if I'm going to do the splits when I lean into the booth to toss the ball... It bounces off the slanted backboard... and boom! it goes in!

I'm like HELL YEAH!! (the onlookers begin cheering as i ask my 5'2 date to pick out her 6ft dinosaur)

he says No! no! no! you have to hit the board first!

i'm guessing he wasn't paying attention, but everyone around him is like "HE DiD! he DID! yay!!"

Then he says, oh well you have to stand straight up when you do it! as he proceeded to argue the fact that i didn't toss it correctly. Remember this is after i had him first demonstrate the proper way to do it, and give me permission to toss it exactly like he did.

the entire onlooking audience had this look of shock on their faces like "maaaaaan thats fucked up, these people are ripping us off"

that pretty much destroyed my whole experience.

^^ OMFG you used the n word.

But I was mad when i first got into the fair. I dropped a dollar out of my wallet at the gate and this dumbass black girl looked down and said 'OMFG is that a dollar bill?" and then proceded to snatch is right from under my boot. I loudly said yea, it just fell out of my wallet, and she kept it anyway. I decided that she needed 1 dollar much more than I so I just let her have it and was content knowing that I was better than her. /rant

But as far as fair food, I had two gyros and two fried snickers, and two chocolate dipped cheesecakes. I love fair food.

First fair I have been too.

Food wasn't bad, though the only fried shenanigans I ended up eating was in the form of a funnel cake.

People there suck, except for the people that are working there. Amazing how many rude, trashy, awful people were there just standing around doing absolutely nothing. Or just cutting in line... Or maybe just being obnoxious and rude towards somebody that bumped into them and apologized (wasn't me, we got to watch this spectacle from a short distance).

I'm not sure I want to go next year. I definitely do not want to go on a saturday next year. 30 minute ride wait times = what the fuck is there to do?

jamerson I played the same game. Some doped up fat bitch was working it, and she wasnt looking when i did it, i hit the backboard and it hit the gate above it but dropped in the hoop, and i was like fuck yeah, she turned around and was like "um doubt it" i was like fuck that i won, and 3 people standing behind me backed me up. she goes "ok u can have another shot" im like FUCK no, give me my prize now, and she got super mad and walked away, but after more bitching, she finally threw one of those UNC basketballs at me, and walked away, hey better than nothing i suppose (she prob gave me the bball because i was wearing a NCSU t-shirt and probably thought i'd be offended).

I don't get all these TWWers talking about fairgoers being rude. I worked 2 years ago at the Presidential exhibit and everybody was nice to me. It's the only job I ever had where not a single person was mean!

The 7:30 pm Demolition Derby was pretty cool, but the muddy track kept the cars from getting going really fast. There were still some pretty good hits though.

that's the whole point of a muddy track. if it doesn't rain they'll spray it down with a water truck to make it muddy anyway.

I figured that was probably the case. The guy ahead of me said the Saturday 2:30 pm derby took place in the rain and the cars could hardly move, so there were no good hits.

This ad always makes me think of the fair, mostly because of the bumper-cars, I can't wait to do the bumper-cars, other bumper-car riders beware!

Looks like nice weather today for the last day of the fair.

Fireworks were pretty good tonight. My brother went with us tonight & had gone earlier in the week, and he said the last day fireworks were far better than what they did earlier.

Here is an interesting article about the life of fair workers. I would hate to be a carnie.
