while i don't really agree or disagree with that, the rise of it is a clear indication that they have a plan for the end of the show. barney's womanizing character really makes the show and that aspect of his character cease would be to have the show itself cease. I think this up and coming season will be its final.

i completely agree. I think that many shows as great as this lose their luster and jump the shark (scrubs for example). I think the creative minds behind this show realize the following and support they have and also have a definitive ending in mind for the series that will be great for all parties and will allow the show to end without dragging itself down.

While Scrubs isn't as great as it once was, it is still a fantastic show that is better than 90% of the other shit on TV.
