Duke shot 40 something percent free throws so the refs couldn't have helped them anymore. Coach K was out-coached tonight as well.

Chicks can talk sports... If I'm an ass to you it's not because you're a girl, it's because I hate Duke more than anything else in this world... Though 2 of my favorite sports moments of all time came at their expense.

Let me recap:

**** By the way, looking for these pictures reminded me how funny sports can be... Who would have ever thought in million years that Jake Voskuhl would carve out a better NBA career than William Avery or Jason Williams... crazy.

So basically, you're saying they called it evenly.

And you're complaining about this.

no i wasn't complaining! i was making the point that they WEREN'T helping duke as people were saying. but if you watched the game or have a brain you'd know. people can hate duke and talk about the calling. but point out a play to me. just don't say the most stereotypical thing ever and not back it up. did you not like the singler charge? i mean there are only one or two plays in the game i can think of that people would sit there and whine about being unfair. i don't care what you say as long as you say something besides "oh duke had it all called their way." anyone can say that and everyone does say that. give me something else.

that quote wasn't meant to seem complaining about the refs not helping them or whatever. the point was to say it was called tight on both sides. everyone that posted before me was saying that the refs gave them the game and that they still lost. that is all i was disagreeing with. i wasn't complaining that they should have been given the game or something and it wasn't meant to come across like that. that seems apparent to me but, i guess it wasn't so whooopsy. but like i said. don't just whine that the refs gave duke the game.

and in reference to uconn above: gross. uconn is (for obvious reasons) one of my top three hated teams. also, i don't care if people are an ass to me. plenty of people like duke. trust me. men old enough to be my father have wanted to murder me; however, see above. if you are going to say something, say something. don't say the one thing everyone says. prove you actually watched the game and know what you're talking about

They would be to me too if I was a Duke fan. I mean what other team consistently owns Duke in head to head matchups in HUGE games?

I've always wondered how it works being a fan of one of your alma mater's biggest rivals... that is just odd...

^ Didn't Duke hit a 3 at the buzzer to win? I don't really care about womens bball (it bores me-- though oddly enough a girl was guarding me at the gym the other day and she was the first person in forever that was quick enough to stop me...) but I think I remember that...

If they get past Mississippi without Mays, then I will be impressed.

And in other undefeated news....Miami is really setting itself up for a very Clemson-like fall. They have played several close games against marginal opponents, and don't play a ranked team until January 23rd .

I said the same thing about them getting past UGA last year (not regarding injuries, but still), they won that one easily, and then still tanked later.

I just don't trust Clemson.

Does anybody else have a problem with Carolina's #1 ranking? This was brought to my attention with comments from other places on people saying, "well that's what a #1 team will do to you, expose your weaknesses."

It's not that I'm bitter about losing today, we suck no matter who we play. I just think Kansas, for one, would easily beat UNC on a neutral court. Plus, look at all the near-misses they've had so far...

the most unfortunate thing about UNC being #1 (or a #1 seed really) is that in the tourny they'd get the first two games at the RBC center (basically a home game that close in ncaa tourny), followed by 2 games at greensboro (essentially a home game). that puts them in the final 4 without going beyond a ~1 hr bus ride either location. thats just plain unfair.

Davidson, BYU (one of the sole reasons BYU is ranked?), Ohio State had them for most of that game, etc etc.
