^^^ Powell was just as exciting/electrifying.

Not quite as talented, but his dunks were definitely sicker than Hickson's...

I'm nervous about these turnover problems still lingering.

I thought getting a PG would help solve that but we've just got too many loose cannons.

Costner overestimates his ability, Grant is out of control, Fells is careless, and Ferguson is a walking turnover.

Powell was much rawer offensively, especially as a freshman. Hickson is also much stronger.

It is absolutely wonderful watching how easy Degand/Javier advance the ball.

It was painful watching Atsur back to the basket 70 feet down the court and it taking 15 seconds to start the offense. Not to mention all the easy baskets other teams got when he got stripped doing it.

If we'd had one of these guys last year the whole season would have been so much different. And they aren't even very good...

we're playing awful

I wish he would go back to last year's starting lineup minus atsur/plus degand, and bring Hickson in off the bench. McCauley and Costner work really well together, but so far this season they haven't hardly been in the game at the same time. Both of them look lost and I think that is part of the reason. We have a bunch of players and no chemistry.

Let's hope Sid works the kinks out before we have to play Mich. State or else we're gonna be in trouble.

well the upside is hickson has 14 pts in the first half (should have been 16 pts if not for that flukey basket where the ball came out).

Degand, Fells, Grant, Costner and Hickson

I think Lowe has it right. Ben should be coming off the bench first. Chemistry will only get better as the season goes on. Hickson has too much talent not to be out there the majority of the game.

Are you kidding? Hickson is a friggin' beast.

Chemistry will come with time. With JJ on the court, our eventual upside is higher than it was last year.

yeah I wouldn't want to limit JJ's minutes for anything. I think we could learn to play them both together some though with McCauley working the high post. He's such a good passer that I'd love the idea of having those two in together eventually.

Costner needs to establish his inside-outside game and we need some ball movement to find some open jumpers.

It seems like we're all standing around waiting for Hickson to score.

Which is actually working pretty well, if we could stop turning the ball over and rebound the long balls a little better.

I have to admit that while I super excited about Hickson I am extremely worried about team chemistry. It seems like the guys are out there for themselves and that is not good because jealousy might set in. I really hope that Lowe that gets things figured out with the chemistry and can get Horner, Smith, and McCauley into the game more. I am just wondering when Fells and Costner are going to come alive and start contributing like they were last year. We need to bring back that blue-collar work ethic and determination because a house built on poles will not last as long as a house built with a solid foundation.

I had high hopes for Fells after the Texas NCAA tournament game.

It's becoming more and more apparent he's never going to amount to much but I still give him an exemption for that UNC game.

4 lackluster years is okay when you have a game like that against UNC

Tracy Smith is pretty unimpressive right now, McCauley doesn't look ready to go right now, and Horner is never going to log a lot of minutes at this level because he's outmatched. He needs to transfer to a UNCW type school, he's not an ACC caliber player.

You don't become a great team by logging a lot of minutes with inferior talent. They've got to learn to be contributors in limited minutes. Hickson will get whistled for plenty of fouls in ACC play, McCauley's minutes will be steady.

I will agree that putting Fergie out there ahead of Horner is a joke.

GET FERGUSON THE FUCK OUT OF THE GAME UNTIL ITS OVER JESUS FUCKING CHRIST LOWE.

Lowe is pulling a Herb (a la Evtimov/Mike O'Donnell/Levi Watkins)

Why do people insist on putting shitty players out there everytime they get a lead.

Basketball is a momentum sport, its never a good idea to put players out there that bring nothing to the table.

I swear Costner and McCauley need to be in there at the same time. They work really well together. But without each other, they are what you're seeing here. Out of sorts. You heard it here first.

I've got no problem with Horner being out there 5-8 minutes a game when the other team is playing zone or we need a substitute for foul trouble/fresh legs.

But he's not a 15-20 mpg type player at this point no matter how sweet his tatoo is
