its evident that once again, state is going to be an above mediocre team this year. 74 and the year before were the only years we dominated college basketball, 83 was a cinderella fluke, and fire and ice was ok. But there is always a hurdle that state just can't seem to get over

Thought this year was going to be different, but obviously isnt. We'll get 4th or 5th in the acc, 4 or 5 seed in the tournament and MIGHT make it to the sweet 16. Not bad by any means, but not great, not excellence. Year in and year out nc state continues to celebrate medicracy in football and basketball, I'm still waiting for the year that we can step into the threshold of excellence.

Ain't gonna happen in 2007-2008, bring on 2008-2009

i honestly think the time is coming in football. if TOB can win ten games three years in a row at BC, he can certainly do that (and maybe even a little more) here at NCSU through recruiting advantages and other things that have been discussed a thousand times.

basketball is still up in the air IMO b/c anybody can coach pretty well when you are picked to finish last. i think that this year, with the talent that we do have, will be a good indicator of where sid can take this program down the road. i mean we have everybody back pretty much and brought in one 5* recruit and another 4* recruit.

It was an extremely shitty loss, and we've gotta get our shit together, but it's not as if we've gone on a 5 or 6 game losing streak with the season going down the toilet....I agree with whoever said to save these comments for january after we've played more than 2 games

I dont care what anyone thinks, Lowe knows what he is doing..he is showing the older guys that dont want to work that you wont be rewarded if you dont hustle...he is also developing lineups and team members that know how each other play in game situations...

the man has been around winning basketball and some of the greatest basketball minds in the game...I got a feeling he knows what he is doing and EXACTLY what happened last night. Im not worried really...its still early in the season this loss doesnt hurt as bad as it would in March so just remember that. If anything it should be a welcomed wake up call to them and let them know that they still havent earned ANYTHING to this point.


I still have faith in Sidney Lowe, and I certainly have faith in NC State...now make me believe.

Though I don't agree with you about one thing. You don't teach a lesson, as you seem to be saying Lowe was doing, while sacrificing a sure win. This one hurts, in more ways than one. If we are a bubble team this is a BAD loss. One the committee points to and mulls over. It also hurts the teams collective confidence.

A wake up call is a blow out to a good team. A close win against a mediocre team. Not a bad loss to a shitty team.

All last night proved was that this team isn't talented enough to win games without EFFORT, FOCUS, and TEAMWORK. Those three things are the difference between a team that can be an ACC contender, and a team that loses at home to the University of New Orleans. Early nonconference games in November are a good time to learn this lesson.

i agree. watching herbs team play at least you counted on making shots at the line, things are better now, but acc games will surely get lost consistently if we dont get those extra points at the line. and yeah, team chemistry has to work out. having people on the team against each other will never work out

I disagree, I'm not sure if that's what Lowe was doing, but if it was...then the loss now is better than a lot more down the road. If teaching that lesson now means lossing to NO and can help us beat big name teams and win ACC games then so be it. I'd take this loss to NO than a blowout to UNC.

you know what's sad is that with all the talent we've had in the past years....yes, we've had good talent, we've never been able to absolutely crush a lesser opponent's soul with a duke/carolina-esque 40 point BEAT DOWN.

with lowe's new style and the talent we have now, and coming off a shitty loss like this, i really hope to see sid light a fire under these kids so they'll come out and absolutely obliterate our next opponent. wishful thinking at this point though
