I could name 20-30 teams that couldnt potentially beat LSU any given day, but that doesnt make them the better team... Arkansas just beat them, going by your logic that makes them "better"... which is just retarded

Kansas?? HAHHAHA, if you didnt know their record and watched Kansas play a game and then watched LSU play a game would never pick Kansas over them, you just picked them because of their record... hell, might as well say Hawaii is better

I didnt say Arkansas is a better team, I agree most days LSU wins this game, but overall this season LSU has not looked like a #1 team, although I guess that can be said about a lot of teams.

Actually I have seen Kansas play several times this year and they continue to look good and play smart. LSU has better talent, but they do stupid shit and a lot of times it looks like they arent playing with a lot of heart.

they were better today - and that's all that matters

it does matter - because their shot at a NC is out. so what best talent / bad day whatever - it's all about your resume

therefore - there are other "better" teams qualified at the moment to play for the championship

its crazy how people are putting kansas on the same level as these one loss teams.if kansas beats mizzou then loses to oklahoma they should go ahead of most 1 loss teams. its not fair at all.

I agree with better qualified, but that doesnt make them the better team... If someone goes undefeated in a BCS conference they deserve to go to the NC game, but that doesnt automatically make them "better" than the other teams that didnt go, just means that circumstances worked out better for them

I wonder how far LSU drops. Most likely the winner of Kansas and Missouri loses to Oklahoma in the Big 12 CG. And a Tennesee loss could put LSU against a top 5 Georgia team in the SEC championship game.

if the winner of Missouri and Kansas loses to Oklahoma, then its WV and Ohio State... but if WV loses then it will be Georgia and Ohio State, assuming Georgia beats GT

To me all of this is just another example of why we need a playoff system. No team has come out yet and put a stamp on being the best in the country honestly. Everytime it seems a team has stepped up and looks good they go out and lose to an unranked team. We will see how Kansas plays tomorrow night. As of now I'd say there are about 8 teams that can make a legit claim to being best in the country. I'd love to see em play it on the field, but as of now our system says sorry LSU we gave you a shot after you blew one game, but twice aint gonna cut it.

I don't think there is anyone out there that thinks that if Kansas can beat Mizzou AND OU that they don't deserve it... It's just that nobody thinks they WILL actually win those two games.

I'd put my $$$$ on tOSU-WVU at this exact moment...

What has to really suck is VT all of a sudden realizing that BC meltdown may have cost them a lot more than they realized.

The worst part of all of this is that there is a good chance OSU somehow climbs back into the game even though they didnt play the last 3 weeks of the season lol.

If Georgia ends up in the CG and they don't even play in their own conference championship then I'll quit watching college football forever.

Ok I probably won't but that isn't that unlikely of a scenario, how fucking rediculous what a shit system.

No Oklahoma played in the conference championship and lost, then made the championship game, I believe?

They went undefeated into the conference championship, got demolished by K State, then played in the National championship and got crushed by someone, LSU or USC...

Could happen this year as well... Kansas beats mizzou, loses to oklahoma, WVU loses to UCONN or Pitt. That leaves KU and OSU as the only one loss teams even though KU didnt win their conference. Ok guess not exactly the same but still kinda shitty.

It was nebraksa, the lost to colorado and didnt even play in the conference title game but still ended up playing in the natl title game I think screwing oregon and colorado that year.

Oklahoma made the Nat'l Championship game after losing in the Big XII title game.

Nebraska made the Nat'l Championship game after not even getting to the Big XII title game.

If KU losses one they are done.

Noone has ever made the NC w/out making it to their conference championship. They have made it though after losing in their conference championship game.

But if WVU losses, and the Big 12 shakes up the way most think, it could leave Georgia and OSU.

^^ K thanks.

Still shitty. To me, if you don't win your conference you shouldn't get to play for a national title. Just how I feel.

Anyone think that if either Kansas or Missouri win out and WVU win their final 2 games, there's any chance OSU somehow jumps them to play Kansas/Missou?

Nope... literally none at all. WVU's computer ranking can only go up if they win out.

V they play a more athletic style but I can't get a read on them yet. They are a bunch of Princeton guys trying to play up tempo. If they hit their shots they can win this game but I personally think UT will cover... I wouldn't put $$$ on it though.

How far will LSU drop because of this loss? Ohio State better hope and pray that Mizzou and Kansas takes a loss if not they won't get to play. Yeah I think that Virginia Tech realizes now that the egg they laid to BC cost them a NC shot but as crazy as this season has been they might end up playing Ohio State if Kansas losses to Mizzou, West Virginia losses to UConn/Pitt, Mizzou losses the Big 12 CG, Georgia takes a loss, and they win out. I am predicting Missouri vs West Virginia.

The National Championship:

Georgia vs The Ohio State University

mark it down

how it happens:
WVU falls to UConn or Pitt, winner of Kansas/Missou falls in Big 12 championship vs Texas or Oklahoma, Tennessee loses to Kentucky, Georgia beats LSU in the SEC Championship

I'm guessing they end up just outside the top 5. At least 2 of the top 5 and Arizona State will have lost this week. Kansas-Mizzou loser could still end up ahead of them.

they might be the "most talented" team in the coutnry, but it's fairly obvious at this point that they can't lay claim to being the best

Then you should feel bad for USC as well, injuries killed them ( I know it is part of the game ) and the way they took it to ASU the other night I think they are better then the teams that will end up in the NC game.

Kansas/Mizzou vs. WVU would be the strangest NC game in a long time, I don't know if I could get excited for that because I'd just feel like it wasn't the two best teams, just the two that survived this year. Good for them I guess.

It's almost NEVER the best two teams. Really, the SC-Texas game was one of the only years that it was. Last year the best two teams were SC and LSU...

tOSU-WVU would be GREAT to watch. They are only 2 hours apart, the fans and players HATE each other and it would be spread versus pro offense again.

Really, from 1-10, almost all of the SOS have been pretty close to each other (other than Kansas whose SOS is awful -- but if they win the next two will rise DRAMATICALLY) so I have a hard time saying those who make it don't deserve it.

This year is not comparable to other years, where you have 3-4 deserving teams and someone gets screwed in some way and everyone is argueing over who should be in.

I would not look forward to an OSU WVU game. I wouldn't even put OSU in my top 5 this year, maybe not even in my top 8. To me the game is always better when there is the underdog dynamic to it, WVU or Kansas vs. LSU would have had that. W/out LSU that is lost.
