Schedule analysis by statefansnation.com

http://www.statefansnation.com/index.php/archives/2008/02/18/breaking-down-the-2008-football-schedule/

Also, can someone please tell me why is it is forgone conclusion that the QB race is only between Wilson and Glennon? Is it wishful thinking because we know (or think) the other three suck or has TOB said something about Wilson and Glennon?

^^^In his recruiting recap, the only QBs TOB talked about were Glennon and Wilson... and from what I hear from some extremely credible people, TOB has been extremely impressed with Wilson.

Football season is the time in which we start out optimistic, b/c one there is a new season and two it allows us to drink away the disappointment of basketball season. Disappointment comes during the football season though and we drink some more. Soon we've drank so much that we have completely forgotten where we are and what we are doing. Upon sobering up we realize that football season has passed and basketball season is here. New optimism returns b/c again it's a new season and we've finally gotten past the disappointment that is football season. Unfortunately for basketball, the season is usually cold and doesn't lend itself to tailgating as much, so we have to deal with the disappointment sober. All we can look forward to is football recruiting and the Spring game's arrival.

Will the cycle ever end!

I'm afraid to look forward to football season. I'm tired of watching the same shit year after year in both sports. Even when we're good, we're not good. Fuck.

Based on QB play from last year, we assume this because we think that O'Brien has a brain.

Here's some historical photos of Williams-Brice Stadium through the years. It's cool to see the evolution of a stadium.

Carolina Stadium 1959 (43,338)

Turf removal in the 1980's

Unfortunately the NCAA hates NC State and under the recommendation of John Swofford we are only allowed to have half the practices that everyone else has.

Quote :
"Beck listed as starter, Evans injured

The football team has released its pre-spring-practice depth chart, and Harrison Beck is listed as the starter at quarterback. Daniel Evans, the starter at the end of the 2007 season, will sit out spring drills because of a shoulder injury, according to a release from the team. Justin Burke and Russell Wilson are listed second and third quarterbacks on the depth chart, respectively.

Beck started four games in 2007, while Evans started the other eight.
Jamelle Eugene is listed ahead of Andre Brown at running back, while Toney Baker is listed as out of spring drills with a knee injury. Eugene took over the starting role after Baker and Brown suffered season-ending injuries in 2007. He scored the winning touchdown against North Carolina on Nov. 10.

The team begins spring practice today at 3:30 p.m. The annual spring football game at the conclusion of spring workouts will be on April 19."

A lot of people changed positions. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

Larsen looked like he would be a good DT and Bedics was pretty good too. Koyal George backup CB? Guy goes from walk-on receiver to on the depth chart for CB? And if Robbie Leonard is going to switch with Ware and play LB, he better get in the weight room.

i agree from what we seen out of beck, but there have been rumors on PP that beck's "lightbulb" has come on...so we'll see.

plus wilson at 3rd on the depth chart is probably a motivational ploy to make sure he knows he has to earn the spot (even though its there for the taking). i mean, there's no way he's worse than burke...

i really hope glennon lives up to some of the hype. i'm tired of waiting on another serviceable QB. seems like it was davis, then stone, then beck and burke. and that scrawny white scrambler kid that transferred was in there somewhere too.

beck has the arm (at least moreso than burke or evans). if he truly has had a lightbulb turn on, that'd be most good.

the yellow hat is for special teams when they do kickoffs, it helps a lot with film so they can see who went where, but its for special teams im pretty sure

anyone got access to the notes from practice? can you summarize?

Who do you all think will be returning kicks and punts for us this year? Can any of them be a home run type of guy that Blackman
was for us? I wonder if T.J. Graham and Brandon Barnes might get a look at returning. Both are supposed to be very fast,
especially Graham. Graham just won the 200m final in a time of 21.38 at Nationals. That time is the second fastest 200m time
in the country this year. The fastest time in the country is 21.37.

Mark it down. Russell Wilson is your starting QB in 2008.

So long as Glennon doesn't eat him or anyone of the other QBs. Dude's a monster compared to the rest.

safe to say evans, beck and burke days are over?

wilson or glennon

i never played football but i've heard folks say that yellow condom on Dom's helmet is for 11 on 11's so the QB knows who the defensive guys are.

I wouldn't make that declaration yet. It's only been one day.

Though from the words coming out, it seems like Wilson is your #1 with Evans #2 by default. Burke and Beck can arm wrestle for #3. I would imagine that barring some unforeseen circumstances, Glennon is probably red shirted.
