lowslots = inside your hull
midslots = hull and surface
highslots = outside hull

they should show some of the other things that you can put in the highslots... but they don't just the guns, they all mostly look different too, if you put on a dual or quad gun it will have 2 or 4 barrels, lazors, railguns, blasters, autocannon, and artillery all look different in the gun models now

Here's a silly question:

Say an agent sends you on a pirate-hunting expedition to a heavily-trafficked system, and there are of course no pirates there--do you have to camp the system and hope some pirates pop up for you to pew-pew, or can you go back to your agent and say "Yo man, no pirates there"?

^^The agent will record the mission into your journal. Click it to see what system to go to then right click -> warp to (mission's name/coordinates). It'll be in some random place in the system known as deadspace. While not often, players can occasionally scan you out and warp in on you. So, take caution if you're in a system with a security status of 0.4 or less because they will most likely be pirates themselves. If your in 0.5 or above then they will probably be salvagers just trying to still your wrecks.

^Yeah, unfortunately I have to take a break from eve. We have a new store now where I work and i'm going to be putting in a lot of hours coming up. But the good thing is, right before my subscription ran out I set a 27 day skill which will be done by the time I come back.

agreed, they need actually spend some money on a few writers to beef up the intro game and the initial experience though, they have it set up, they have agents in space, in stations etc, they just need to link them together more dynamically and web the story lines / missions (what you would call quests)

they could even do it to get you used to the pvp aspect of the game in a way

yet i did so well on the verbal portion of the SAT.... I blame growing up on BBC, NPR and other filtered english media when i was <5

so, watching stuff fly by under your feet or a undulating ass (rendered) really that much better? most of the travel time "staring at nothing" can be spent looking at market info etc, or in my case listening to comm chatter/alliance chat/corp chat/eve radio chat/security channel chat

but i guess if you have no friends and you have a bill gates mentality then yeah i can see how you'd be looking at nothing for hours.... hell you can even play around with the map....


more on the idea of the background stuff i do agree it does get rather monotonous, there was talk a good while ago about being able to get hubble pictures loaded up as your system back grounds instead....

though would just stark black with some stars be that much better?

the guy that got me into eve put one of his guys into destiny, but that's all i know i haven't had a chance to talk to him about it at all.

they nerfed torps in the last 2-3 patches i think, they made them really really short range (=failpedeos now)

bob has had their collective asses handed to them, MC and others turned on them right when they needed the most help. IAC has backed out of the conflict somewhat at the moment.

i are poor at the moment though i may buy some time cards and sell them or do exploration with said friend above... or just melt down the rat loot i never use and sell the minerals!

if you have any questions just ask, you might want to grind some missions or simple highsec mining for monies, but BEU is right, you need about 60-90 days of training to really make a lot of cash (ratting in very lowsec or 0space) but you can be effective in pvp in less time if you sacrifice the time on your other skills for a bit (small ship pvp, interceptor/e-war frigate/assault ship/covert ops scouting). ultimately you want to do both, and ratting (killing NPC asteroid belt pirates for money, loot, and salvage) skills do translate into pvp skills but the process is longer.

Arab I got covert ops, interceptors, assault ships, and all those ship skills on that list trained. Now its just the harder missle skills and 1 or 2 lvl 5 skillz.

usually new players take on the roll of tackler, where they fly an interceptor that disables a bigger ship while his friends catch up... you can get the skills to do that in a couple of weeks.

also in the beginning you'll be flying cheap ships. in a do-or-die fight, a fleet of 15 $1m ships up against 3 $100m battleships will usually lose, but not before taking out one of them.
