ok, besides their methods, what is so extreme about those guys messages? They are strict interpreters of the bible - young earth, creationists, etc.
You're saying those view points are extreme in the Christian world?
I'll give it to you that most Christians are not Young Earthers, but it has been shown time and time again that a majority of americans are creationists.

Besides their methods? Besides the thing that I find to be the most extreme about them, what do I find extreme?

Look at the way Jesus taught people. He didn't use those methods. That's my main beef with those groups.

ok - so what do you consider extreme about their methods, then?
they are standing in front of large audiences, using hyperbole and flawed logic to try to teach impressionable kids their view points.
sound like pretty much any church, right?

proof.

i became agnostic then ... basically... an atheist because of a lack of proof and because of proof that large parts of religious myth were just that - myth.

Then you must not know many Christians. Most churches would love it if their kids could be as "devoted" as those kids in the video.

Thankfully, Americans are too apathetic and lazy, for the most part, to take their beliefs so seriously.

I am agnostic.

I believe in a higher power but I don't believe man can ever construct a religion in a pure form.

To change me to believe strictly in one religion I would need a pretty conclusive miracle to witness.
