alright, you have to be an alias... no one is this fucking dumb. Reread what I said once again... If someone lives there thats fine, I dont give a rats ass, BUT if that person called me out for being redneck I would point out they have no room to talk. You could weigh 500lbs, I could care less, but if a person who weighs 500lbs tries to call me out for being fat, then yes, I will note they have no room to fucking talk, so once again, no backfire, just proving me right over and over Trailerskirts4life

^^ no shit, where did this dumb fucker come from?

You called me out for thinking I must somehow live at a residence that's beneath you and in the process you basically talked shit about your supposed friend's house. You thought I lived in a shithole (which greg's place isn't) and thought you were being cute about it. The fact is that you pointed it out thinking it was my place when in fact isn't, but rather someone who you claim to be a friend of.

Too. Damn. Funny.

Greg wouldnt claim that he was more "refined" or "high class" than me like you did because he isnt a little bitch like you... I am really laughing at the thought of Greg calling me a redneck... he knows that I am definitely not more redneck than him, but neither one of us views that as defining a person anyways so it doesnt matter, but apparently you do, which makes no since sense you are obviously more redneck than me so you are just calling yourself out... did you even graduate High School dumbfuck?

It probably deserves its own thread but I think it takes away from the game. I enjoy fights and blood and missing teeth as much as the next guy. But there are guys in the league that are wimps but are fast on the ice. The only reason they can play hockey is b/c if someone touches them, the team's goon will take that guy out.

You don't have that in any other sport. I think if you can't take a hit, you shouldn't play a contact sport. Just my opinion.

you also shouldn't have a sport where a malicious uncalled for blindside attack results in a guy being forced to retire after his rookie season

if that had happened in the street Bertuzzi would be in prison for a bit

^^ Just the entire "tradition" of baseball can be annoying.

I'm still saying defensive players picking up a football everytime it hits the ground and running toward their endzone is fucking annoying. Whistles blowing, clearly an incomplete pass, and they look around like "are you kidding me?? that was a fumble!"

If I'm watching a baseball game, and actually manage to get into it, then I hate pitching changes. Takes fucking forever, when a team uses like 5 pitchers in an inning. Fuck that.

I hate the NBA.

I hate the NFL replay system. Its fucking retarded, all the money in the world, and you have to throw a red flag at a guy on the field, then another guy goes under a tent for 3 minutes. Why isn't there just some fat rule savy ref sitting up in a box somewhere, he takes a look and just radios the call in, like in college?

I'll come up with more.

This is an incorrect opinion.

Of course sitting on the bench sleeping because the DH eliminates nearly all strategy a manager would have had to think about made Joe Torre a great manager.

If you think that takes away from the game, you should see what the game would look like if all the skill players who need protection weren't playing. The '80s Oilers wouldn't exist. There'd be no Kovalchuk or St. Louis today. Very few players (Lemieux, Ovechkin) have that lethal combination of finesse and power that would allow them to thrive and make the game interesting while staying safe.

really? because I'm pretty sure that since 1996, the NL has won only 14 of the 33 WS games played without a DH (42%). of course, what's even more pathetic than that is the NL has gone 8-22 in AL stadiums (26%) during the WS. so in the name of tradition, they get beaten more often than not without a DH and pretty much dominated with them since they really don't have hitters to fill that spot. it's silly for them to keep the DH when it puts them at such an obvious disadvantage and they'r3e getting out managed even in their home ballparks

^^ that really doesn't mean much to me. All it means is that the AL has an extra roster spot for a big hitter that the NL doesn't. There should be NO DH in either league, and that is a fact.

NL ball >>>>>>>>>>>>>> AL ball

Fuck purity of the game

Professional sports are all about specialization

Pitcher's spend so much time honing all their pitches that they don't have anytime to work on their hitting

Its boring to watch a pitcher hit and results in an easy out 9 times out of 10.

Having a pitcher hit is akin to making Peyton Manning play linebacker.

Back to hockey fights...

The 'goons' wouldn't have a job anymore so those roster spots would be filled with hockey players and not thugs. That alone would improve the game.

You don't have this aspect in any other contact sport. Where good clean hits are discouraged and not encouraged. By allowing fighting, they discourage physical play unless you can fight to back it up. It should be like football where if you get jacked up, you shake it off and keep playing. Not have your goon take out the guy that did it.

I realize that with hardcore hockey fans this is as much a part of the game as the ice and the puck but imo, you can't argue with this:

2. Not having reviews on horrible ref calls like in the Jax-Pitt game when Hines Ward cheated like a motherfucker with his face mask on Brian Williams and almost cost the Jaguars the game.

Unless you've played hockey or have been watching or involved in hockey for a long time, it's very hard to describe the skill forward/agitator/enforcer relationship in a way that will make sense to you.

There's a book called The Code that explains it fairly adequately, but even that doesn't really cover it.

The basic idea is that you treat the other team's skill players like you want your team's skill players to be treated. If one team's agitator takes liberties with a star, his own star can expect to deal with some cheap shots as well. This goes on for a while until the enforcers settle it on their own terms and the game returns to normal.

It's worth noting that there are two or three types of fights in a hockey game. Fights between enforcers are generally ceremonial. Occasionally a skill player who has the physical element will get fed up with the agitator who's bothering him and take matters into his own hands...assuming the agitator will go, which rarely happens until late in the game because of the moronic instigator rule that allows them to draw penalties all day long. The third type of fight is one directly related to a hit, wherein a defenseman takes a run at a small forward and is immediately grabbed by the nearest physical player.

The other thing to consider in this whole equation is the physical danger to the skill forward himself. Small NHL players are much smaller than a small NFL player (Ray Whitney, for example, is 5' 5"), while a large modern defenseman is just as big as any linebacker and is padded similarly about the shoulders and elbows...plus they've moving at much faster speeds. There's also the matter of constant hacks with the stick to the hands and back of the legs being legal, as well as punches to the face after the whistle being generally accepted. That level of tolerated marginal violence doesn't exist to the degree it does in hockey, so the boiling point that leads to a fight is rarely reached.

3 minutes left in a 5 point game...

Football: Run for a gain of one 3 times, punt, play prevent defense, lose.

Basketball: Stand at the half court line and do nothing, take a stupid shot with 2 seconds on the shot clock, the other team rebounds, scores, and wins.
