I missed out on getting it on with a good number of girls that I really wish I'd done when I had the chance. It happened without fail every time I liked a girl and tried to play it cool.

I therefore resolved to never turn down sex with a girl I wanted and intended to have sex with. Gotta strike while the iron is hot.

Then if things don't work out, well, at least you got to sleep with her.

There was this one girl I liked who I really didn't want to do anything more with on the first date other than kiss briefly, lets not rush this along you know.

So, after the Robert Earl Keen concert, I was supposed to sleep on the couch in my sleeping bag but our talking caused her roommate to kick us out of the living room and I wound up on her bedroom floor.

For a while.

After about another 30 minutes of talking, she "felt bad" about me sleeping on the bedroom floor so she invited me to sleep on her bed . . . still in my sleeping bag (think Heath Ledger in the Patriot, except I'm more attractive -- well at least without black teeth).

That didn't last for long.

We didn't have sex, but we did more than I ever intended. She calls me a week later because she has something to tell me . . . she's a virgin.

Oops. I was cool with it but she cut it off, I was too sexually aggressive.

thus we shared many, if not dozens, of activities (dates?) before actually getting serious

and there wasn't some event (fancy dinner, dance, etc.) that clearly marked the line between friends and lovers

it just kinda happened "organically", sometimes gradual, other times rather quickly

sometime she made the first move, sometimes I did..

it's not as "black and white" as "which # date do you get to which # base"

not to me, at least
