yeah, No Country was really good, but the real tragedy would have been Bardem not winning

Having seen NCFOM, I can say it is a fantastic movie. I have not see TWBB, but I assume it is just as great. This was obviously very close, and after I see TWBB, I am sure I will have a problem even choosing my choice between the two.

I thought it was all pretty fairly distributed, No Country was more director intensive and There Will Be Blood was more visuals and a one man show so the awards made sense to me.

HAHA from 80th Academy Award page on wikipedia

"Therefore, the fear of picketing writers and boycotting actors (as a result of solidarity by the Screen Actors Guild) was eliminated, and the ceremony proceeded as normal, although many actresses were seen sucking directors' dicks, trying to get into movies.[9]"

There Will Be Blood is a medicore movie with a crappy soundtrack that has an amazing performance by Daniel Day Lewis within it.

He's half-irish half-jewish and grew up in south London. He credits trying to fit in as a boy as his first real method acting.

And yes, I am a total DDL fanboy.

I just watched hightlights of the oscars and they did seem pretty boring. Although I'm glad NCFOM came out on top. I can't get over how great of a movie it is.

Meh, I was slightly disappointed with the Oscars this year. The show was alright, actually, Stewart was a great host. My jaw was on the floor during the performance of "Falling Slowly". I ended up only getting ten right in my predictions, though, simply because both of the actress categories fucked me over. I think Blanchett not winning Supporting Actress was one of the biggest snubs of the night, if not the biggest snub.

I saw all of the BP nominees, too, and I really think NCFOM deserved to win... if TWBB wasn't nominated. TWBB was such a fuckin' masterpiece.

to me its obvious, conan obrian is the only one that can man this job
he knows how to deal with all kinds of people and large events
why hasnt he had a shot yet?

I didn't think Stewart was that bad, considering the amount of time he had to prepare. But yeah, I pretty much loved Billy Crystal and all the zany over-the-top stuff he'd do.

Chris Rock was probably the worst host of the Oscars I've ever seen, and I love Chris Rock.
