i don't know if this has already been said, but i thought the sixth sense was one of the worst movies i've ever seen.

it was so blatantly obvious what was going on the "twist" ending failed like a football bat. since that's all the movie was waiting for, and i figured it out in 4 seconds, i thought it sucked. i'm sure most will not agree.

and a few others:
the pacifier (don't ask why i've seen that)
joshua
and any of the fast and the furious movies

some of you people either have way too high expectations, no sense of humor, or a self centered idea of reality.

Statefan - dead serious. Have you seen "Radio" - it's terrible.

It was a 10-minute loop that got repeated 12 times: people are mean to handicapped guya nd he gets sscared, then Ed Harris makes it all better with an inspirational speech.

I've read Hallmark cards with more emotional depth and character development.

Putrid acting, awful stereotypes - I'd rather poke my eye with a fork for two hours than watch this shit ever again.

I was really surprised at "Idiocracy" when I saw it. I was thinking to myself that the last time Mike Judge directed a film it was freaking great. Man that was shocking...

Worst movie ever though? Pretty close...

this thread turned into "not the best movies of all time"

"Alexander" was one of the only movies i couldn't finish, and i see a lot of movies.

has "cat & dogs" been mentioned yet?

I had trouble finishing 1941 the other night. Spielburg, Akroyd, and Belushi should have been able to make a better movie.

either I've skipped it or we should all be shot for not including Monkeybone, Bedazzled, and Blast From the Past on this list.

I'm with you on "Bedazzled" and "Blast from the Past," but "Monkeybone" was some funny shit.

And yes, I know the guy who just ripped many of the worst movies ever just endorsed "Monkeybone," but I'll stand by it. It wasn't Oscar-caliber, but it was a good time.

And I wasn't just mentioning movies from the "Not good list" - each one of those was one of the biggest wastes of time and brain space ever.

battlefield earth has got to be the worst movie of all time adjusted for budget spent. I could understand making a shitty movie on 60 grand, but that was a f'awful movie that had >60 mill blown on production and marketing is just.... I don't even know.

Part of the problem with Battlefield Earth is that the book it's based on is horrible.

Plus it fails the logic test a lot.

-Guys get in the helicopter in Colorado and fly to Fort Knox in Kentucky, presumably they do not need to fuel up!

-Then they get to Fort Knox and fly at least a thousand bricks of gold back. Gold weighs a lot.

-While they're at Fort Knox, they see all these aircraft sitting there. After thousand or so years ago, the aircraft are in pristine condition and the electricity still works. Who is producing it?

-And again, they fly them back to Colorado and presumably they do not need to fuel up!

ok fine... i never said the plot was good but ignore the plot and its an alright action movie. and for the electricity maybe it had a generator with 1000 year old gas in it and someone actually put winterizer in it just in case someone needed it

Oh yeah - "Pirates of the Caribbean" was the most boring shit in the world. I still feel bad for Johnny Depp for being surrounded by lazy bastards when he works his ass off.

As for "Battlefield Earth" - yes, it's one of the dumbest, most incoherent, poorly acted with shoddy special effects you'll ever see. God, it's terrible.

But isn't it kind of fun, too, in that "oh my God how did anyone think this was a good idea?" Like a train wreck in slow-motion - you know that no good can come of this, but I'll be damned if it's not kind of fun at the time.

super troopers by a wide margin

i don't know why they bothered - they could of made ANY of it funny if they tried, but they opted not to - maybe that's the point and i just don't get it

mulholland drive takes number two - thanks for making a movie that's complete nonsense to make the point that people will rave over complete nonsense - a worthwhile exercise, you really showed them!

"Super Troopers"? Are you mad? That's the one the funniest movies of all time - if you couldn't find anything to laugh at in that movie, then I recommend avoiding comedies.

Seriously, what's next? Are you going to nominate "Billy Madison" or "Happy Gilmore?" What about "Bad Santa"? "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle"? "The BIg Lebowski"?

I enjoy similar movies of this genre, and i also enjoy PT Anderson's other movies and the cast was fabulous

but i watched Magnolia the other night and absolutely did not like it. And that is weird for me, i'm such a fan of cinema and film that it takes a lot for me to not like something and this one did it.

[Edited on February 1, 2008 at 1:13 PM. Reason : add for cast]
