I agree. Accomplishments are becoming a very bad thing in this country.
Do you know how many senators have gone straight to the presidency in the history of this country? 2
Sarijoul. Im just saying he is likeable. His policies are socialist and his record contradicts what he is now saying. With promises to end discrimination and round up all loose nuclear materials within 4 years...most people who actually study candidates see it all as just talk. And he proposes taxing the "rich" bc "they dont need it" (despite being THIER money) to fund massive entitlements.
I dont see where my statement was pompous. If anything Id say it was pretty accurate. Most obama supporters Ive debated with will disagree on most of his policies, other than the war. Yet "like him" and "trust him" so that is who they are voting for. So Im admitting he is a likeable guy.

no, I gave my opinion and even gave you my rationale on how it was formed. You just keep offering insults. It has been my experience that his supporters dont know much about his policies, but are very taken by his performance.
Do you honestly think he can round up all the loose nuclear materials in 4 years?

Huckabee wins West Virginia, a winner-take-all state. The West Virginia Republican Party decided to have a convention instead of a primary or caucus (to save money). The winner had to have 50%.
First Ballot -Romney 41% -Huckabee 33% -McCain 16% -Paul 10%
Paul was eliminated from the second ballot. McCain's surrogate at the convention told McCain supporters to throw their support behind Huckabee to deny Romney a victory.
Second Ballot -Huckabee 52% -Romney 47% -McCain 1% 2/5/2008 2:40:21 PM |

Well yes and no. You seem to think that you dont need to show any accomplishments for the job of president. To that I would disagree with.
Now for accomplishments being a bad thing, yes for some it is. Make good money? Bad thing. Success? Bad thing Create a new product that people need? Great, but you should GIVE it away.
Thats the problem with the current crop of dems. Punish success, acheivement, and innovation and reward the irresponsible. Lets continue to act like people have no control over thier own lives and give the govt more power. The problem with the party of govt, is that people dont trust the govt and its terribly inefficient. But go ahead and give them more control over our daily lives. Personally id rather them tap my phone than take over my healthcare and retirement.

I agree that government health-care is bound to be a disaster, I'd rather have to deal with an impersonal HMO manager who can theoretically be fired than a permanently entrenched bureaucrat in DC, but I'm not sure why you think it's OK for the government to suddenly breach the Constitutional right to be secure in my persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures.2/5/2008 4:58:18 PM |

^cash, I was pointing out how upset one party gets when govt get involved with one aspect, but invites them into other more serious ones.
Hill and Bill already took away profits for vaccines, so companies stopped making them. Now we have shortages that she actually blames bush for, and why not, people will believe anything. Our govt is slowly doing this already with healthcare, and probably next year will finish the job. 2/5/2008 5:10:20 PM |

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/
Obama will win California, Georgia, Illinois, Alabama and finish strong in Missouri, Conn, and Jersey.
Then they go on and on and NC will become the most important state ever on May 6th. 2/5/2008 6:44:19 PM |

Obama wins in GA; a state with a huge African-American population, the results will probably be similar to South Carolina in that Obama will come out with a huge margin of victory.
Conn., Ill., Mass., N.J., Del., Ala., Mo., Tenn., Okla. closes their polls at 8 p.m. ET; Ark. at 8:30 2/5/2008 7:13:36 PM |

obama isnt going to win CA...he might not get trounced like it appeared he would last month, but i think he looses by single digits....but still a L. I think he wins 3 maybe 4 states
I doubt that Hill will blow him out of the water(other than ARK and NY) but a L is a L is a L...unless it is Nevada.....

I agree that Clinton will not blow Obama out of the water and get huge victories,
But I think that if Obama can somehow win in New Jersey and come within a close second in NY, that will be a major coup. Polls show that Clinton is only leading by I think 7 points in New Jersey and barely double digits in NY, it will definitely be interesting to see how Obama do in those two states.
I think with a large turnout, Obama will win California on a thin margin. 2/5/2008 7:25:40 PM |

It is kinda weird, where Obama is kicking ass he is picking up more delegates than expected but where Hill is, it is so so and only a handful more.
I think VA and DC will probably go for Obama next week. He had a lead in the delegates going in(30 i think) I figure he will still be in the lead and the media will say he did better than expecting while Clinton did just ok.
When I go home in two weeks(NC) I will do an absentee ballot, heck, it might come down to NC in....what...June?! Hillary was REALLY hurt by FL and Michigan not counting.
I am not sure who I will vote for now, was for Clinton mainly because I thought she would have a better chance at beating the republican. Now that it appears McCain will be that, I can see me voting for Obama because of the change thing and old vs young....not like NC will EVER vote for a DEM in the general so at least there will be some suspence in the primary.
I think the neo conservatives would vote for McCain even though they dont like him just to prevent Hillary from becoming Prez.....and with Obama,....not so much, so maybe they will stay home.

More like what is there to actually like about Willard Romney? He is the only one that I have heard openly laud the idea of drilling in a wildlife refuge which I find revolting. Also his concept of just letting the "free market" fix everything which sounds pretty lazy considering I am sure he or his cronies would profit somehow. Oh and the flip-flop pandering should make anyone .2/5/2008 10:41:36 PM |
