I'm not sure what your point was with that post, but that was the rookie maximum salary; he also had nearly $3 million in bonuses each year, and has signed a contract extension through 2016 worth $9 million a year for the first 6 years and $10 million a year for the last 2.

i watched some of the highlights from this game on sportscenter

that guy Ovechkin is definitely sick...also I liked when he gave up his stick to the goalie since he had lost his...good team player

actually it is through 2020/21. He isn't going anywhere, and he is worth every penny they are giving him. I think it is great that there is a personality like him in the NHL, but it sucks to have to play against him so much.

Nobody in here is saying he is just a cherry picker. This thread was pretty much nothing but praise for Ovechkin until Bman rolled in with his random salary numbers and insults. He cherry picks quite often. So what. All the explosive goal scorers do; it's to be expected. Hell, Marian Gaborik may very well be my favorite NHL player, and the entire Wild system when he is on the ice is practically based around him cherry picking when it looks like the Wild are about to gain possession.
