I haven't the energy to go facebook stalking. If you just go ahead and tell me if you're hot or not? Then I can proceed in the appropriate manner in terms of whether or not to stalk you. 2/7/2008 1:35:37 AM |

Are you going to cut off his penis too... you do know he fucked her with it, right?
I think you have two options here: 1- Ask him about it and then force him to get rid of it because it makes you feel insecure. or 2- Sell it for him, and tell him about it years later.
Then, in about 3 years after you break up and he moves on with someone else, decide which one made you look like a bitch. 2/7/2008 6:58:22 AM |

My father saved his wedding band from his first marriage after it ended in divorce. He kept his wedding band in a safe at my grandmother's house. After my father died, my grandmother gave me his old wedding band.
My mother was his second wife and she knew that he still his old wedding band and she she never seemed to care -- probably because she still had her wedding band from her first marriage in her jewlery box.
In my parents' cases, their first marriages were both to their high school sweethearts and I think that the wedding bands had sentimental value for them. I guess since they both knew how the other one felt that it just wasn't an issue that they'd kept their old bands. 2/7/2008 9:12:13 AM |

I think you should probably just break up with this dude right now. If he asks why, just tell him he is a complete jerk face and never speak to him again. Just the mere fact that he has the old wedding band clearly means that he is sleeping with his ex-wife.

I think that it's okay that he's keeping it since it does have value to it. Maybe he wants to keep it for that reason.
I doubt he is keeping it to reuse it. Most people don't reuse things like that (would a woman wear the same wedding dress twice?)
I don't think she is crazy for wanting to know why he has it, but I think she should just ask him. If they are that serious her asking a question that trivial shouldn't be a big deal. I'm sure if she asks he will give her the reason he's keeping it and she might then just realize it's not a big deal.
That is how relationship problems start though, the two in the relationship aren't open with each other, they don't ask questions, they don't give answers. I think before the problem that you have with him keeping the wedding ring build up and eventually turn into a fight that you don't need you need to tell him that you're a little bothered by it and you want to know why he is keeping it. If he answers "I was thinking of keeping it for a while and maybe selling it when the price of gold goes up" then leave it at that. If he answers "I want to remember my ex with it" then tell him that bothers you, maybe he will get rid of it. 2/7/2008 10:20:46 AM |

My fiance kept some shit his ex's gave him, including an old "promise ring." I could care less. It's not like he rolls in all the old stuff at night and weeps for the past.
You probably should consider years later, that ring will still be with him when you're long gone for being an overbearing bitch. 2/7/2008 10:48:48 AM |

what kind of band is it? if its just a plain band, I dont think itd be worth much, and maybe not worth keeping unless there is sentiment attached to it. My exbf kept his old wedding band, but it had 3 diamonds in it. He mentioned getting it made into a piece of jewelry, but he doesnt have the money for it right now. 2/7/2008 1:30:07 PM |

i agree with not much i've read (but i havent read it all)
but im the person whod get rid of the ring promptly, unless i thought there was a chance we'd get back together, or still had feelings...then i'd keep it.
one thing to keep a sweatshirt another to keep a symbol of eternal love.
but thats just me folks

. . . if they aren't together anymore it's not really a symbol of anything eternal
It then just becomes an object which may or may not just have sentimental value. 2/7/2008 7:12:32 PM |
