^ That article makes it out as if he's earning a living from his guitar hero, but the only thing it says that he's won is something like $1000 and some chick-fil-a sandwhiches.

Official confirmation for Tool: http://kotaku.com/5046518/tool-confirmed-for-guitar-hero-world-tour

I wish there were some tracks from Undertow and Aenima.

that has to be a downloaded pack. 3 of the same band on the regular tracks is weird.

but vicarious, parabola, schism are all great choices imo.

^Yeah that is what I was thinking too. I'd like to get just the game and guitar (Since I hate the Rock Band guitars) and the new Guitar Hero guitar looks badass.

he IS set up for a huge failboat. I listened to an npr interview. the kid thinks he's going to be a professional gamer (as his only income source) into his 30's and then optimistically said "maybe I'll pick up programming after that". he quit school so he could become a pro gamer. this kid has no fucking clue.

Nah, that song is actually pretty fun to play. I'm glad they went with the unplugged version though. I can't think of too many other acoustic songs in RB or GH.

It is the 2nd song you get to play in the game though, so it's one of the easier songs for sure.

It's weird. They have these sections where you are holding a long note and then you add another note but keep holding the first note. I can't quite get used to doing that. Building up a power chord one note at a time like that is not natural (in Guitar Hero world anyway).

At least they made it like RB where you can still collect star power while you're using it too. I hated that about GH3.

Other notes

*Thankfully they got rid of those gay ass battles from GH3. They still have something like them but instead of having to "win" them, the guy you're battling comes out and you just do a duet type thing with him on stage. If you finish you win. It's actually pretty sweet.

*BILLY CORGAN!!!

*Playing a Tool song is so awesome. Just like at a Tool concert, there's no band on stage and the whole background is this weird psychedelic swirly light show type setup. It's very neat.

*Stranglehold is a very long song.

*Fuck, my wrist really hurts.

About the same, maybe a little bit easier? It's hard to say exactly. I'm making runs on this that I could never make on Rock Band. And something tells me that I didn't all of the sudden get that much better.

yeah we got it last night...guitar is easier this time around compared to gh3 and while i like the drums, the yellow pad is terrible. you have to beat the shit out of it to get it to register...on the official forums it seems like theres major issues with the yellow and orange pads

I got mine last night, and this morning it seems there is something wrong with the guitar, it acts as if someone is playing the wrong notes which causes us to fail before the song even begins

if you are having trouble with the guitar, remember you have to hold the sync button on the Wii while inserting the neck of the guitar into the body...it shows you this on the huge fold-out instructional poster...but is easily overlooked

i got mine at walmart so hopefully i can work some sort of return if mine sucks. we didnt really have any problems playin with it last night...seems the biggest concern is drums though, and i was on drums playin on medium, so i'm probably not going to expose too many weaknesses.

Gone are the days where they try and put as much into the game before release, and gone are the days of free upgrades

DLC is confirmed on day 1 for games like these now

Neighbors got it. How many "sets" are there? I never really got into GH3 that much, but i was able to play like the first 4-5 sets of songs on expert on the guitar. From what i remember guitar hero 3 was more challenging. I guess i just haven't gotten to the hard stuff yet.

there's a lot of sets, probably about 30-35. they get longer as you progress. the difficulty is about the same as guitar hero III, except for the battles(they are insanely easy now). The only tracks I had trouble blowing through on expert were Hot For Teacher, Satch Boogie, and Never Too Late.

There are new "styles" of notes though, which are kinda fun. For instance, you'd hold the green note, then add the blue note "hammer-on" style so you're now holding two notes, then maybe tap the yellow note, and play all three to end.
