You're as dumb as you are stubborn. Of course I can see the difference, but arguing with somebody as to which is more beneficial to each one's program is still entirely subjective. The only way it wouldn't be is if you polled Tennessee's recruits and fans and asked them how Pearl painting himself made them feel and did the same w/ people who purchased NCAA 09 on Wii and asked them about their feelings on the mascot on the cover.

they are all gay for doing it. If a Tennessee fan did it, they would be gay. If a Florida fan did it, they would be gay. If any fan intentionally tries to skew a vote for their mascot they are gay. Who cares? No one will remember who was on the cover once the next one comes out. Do you look at the cover of a video game and see a player/mascot from another team aside from State and actually feel slighted or jealous??? that is so odd to me, I dont even think twice about who or what is on the cover.

One of the first sports talk threads I've read in a while...but...

Dang Shannon! Chill out! Let State at least get some bit of glory that we can't get any other way, even if it is to have Mr. Wuf on the cover on a Wii game. It's obvious we aren't the most popular team out there, and it's obvious that we're not going to win any big championships this year...so at least let our students decide something for the school.

State doesn't get recognition in many things, but our mascot does. For many many people the mascot is more than just a guy in a furry suit. Who doesn't enjoy the fact that the guy in the suit is awesome at what he does? Children love to associate Mr. Wuf with NC State. A school without a mascot is pratically unheard of.

I'm sorry if you think that by voting for our mascot to be on the case of a video game is lame to you, but for people who grew up NC State fans like me it means a lot more. It means that carolina bandwagoners that want to own the NCAA '09 on their wii are going to have a buy something with Mr. Wuf on the front of it.

I know if fucking UGA was on it, I wouldnt think twice about it... NCAA is the only XBOX360 game I play so I usually put it in the console, put the box in a drawer, and not even think about it until the following August. I couldn't even begin to tell you who was on the box last year

But here is another example. I like Peyton Manning. I dont like Tom Brady, actually, I dont mind Brady but Brady fans are annoying as fuck and I hate the Patriots. If there was a poll for the "Best QB of 2007" and someone skewed it to make Peyton win, that would be gay as shit, as obviously Tommy had a better season. Does it mean I like Brady? nope. Does it mean I no longer like Peyton? Nope. But I would still want the poll to be legit and wouldnt contribute to the bullshit by voting for Manning over Brady. If Manning DID somehow win, it wouldnt mean shit because I would KNOW it was skewed.
